Hey guys,

So my DAT is in 2 days and I'm feeling pretty unprepared. I can't extend though since I am at the limits of my eligibility. I was studying very inefficiently and by the time I realized I wasn't going to be ready, I only had 3 weeks left.

So I finished the review in 2 weeks and thought I would be ready for to take some practice tests. Nope. I was doing very poorly on DAT Bootcamp getting around 16-17 on the sections (except RC). I also have DAT Destroyer but I'm getting about 70% of the problems wrong. I know this is supposed to be a learning tool though. This past week I've been at the library 10+ hours a day but it isn't enough. My Bootcamp scores have improved a little. Now I'm at:
BIO:18
GC:17
ORG: 18
RC:21
PAT:18
QR:16

I'm most scared of QR, I've always been horrible at math. I was the only kid in my class that couldn't finish those 100 problem sheets in time. I didn't take Trig in HS. So I'm not sure what to do about that.
PAT, I am doing well on TFE, Cube counting, and hole punching. I am getting about 70% on angles, and I am doing horrible on the keyhole. I always run out of time before I get to the paper folding so I don't know how I'll do on that. I plan on skipping keyhole on the real test.

I really don't want to take the DAT yet because I know I can do well with a little more time. Does anyone have any last minute tips or strategies that may help me?

Just wrote my DAT a month ago, I would say based on how you're scoring, stop practicing reading comp, do a quick read (and maybe write) of weak concepts in Cliff's AP BIO, study weak areas in general chem using Chad's videos (you can probably forgo using Destroyer at this point because you need the basics down cold for that), do as many Bootcamp BIO and CHEM tests as possible and review weak areas, and practice DAT PAT tests (do 1 for each day) using the additional keyhole practice generator (do 30 a day of these).

I think this is manageable and based on how I felt while writing, this is probably the best thing you can do to reach the highest score possible with the time constraints you are under.

Hope this helps!

Oh right, and in addition, do QR tests as well. Although I think using Destroyer for QR might be more beneficial.

Hi,

The best advice I can give any student is "Do not take the DAT until fully prepared". From what you have stated in your post you are not feeling ready. The Math is a very tricky section of the DAT although most schools over look a lower score in this section you still need to score above a 15, and that is easier said than done.

Are you not able to pay the reschedule fee and postpone it?

Wishing you the best..feel free to pm me if you want some more advice.

Take care..Nancy
