For those of you who took the DAT, how much of the old materials did you guys retain?

I am going through DAT Destroyer for the 2nd time and quickly realizing that I have forgotten 30-40% of the stuff..... I'm freaking out and getting antsy right about now. :scared:

Should I postpone the test? BTW this is a do or die situation for me as it is my 2nd time.

Alright man. Let me tell you something.

My DAT was originally scheduled for the 23rd. I had everything reviewed, prepared, made sure I pee'd and poop'd. And I arrive at my testing center to find out there's a damn power outage. They made me postpone my test until the 28th, a gap time of 5 days.

All I did those 5 days was finish up 3 CDP tests that I didn't get a chance to do. I attempted to go through OC and GC destroyer for a 2nd time but only got to problem 50 on each. Those 100 problems didn't help anyway.

However for bio, I started going over all of my flashcards and notes 2 days before the test, like in your situation. I didn't really think about how much I had forgotten, I just plowed through my notecards trying to not waste time. Add some google searching, wikipediaing, and I ended up scoring a 23 on the bio section.

It's ironic, because in those 5 days, I studied the most for bio but it was still my lowest score (check my breakdown). If anything, that told me that I was right to review bio because had I not google searched a certain fact, I might've gotten a 22 or 21.

So if bio is the only thing you feel like you're not good to go on, DO NOT POSTPONE YOUR TEST. Just plow through your flashcards (if you didn't make flashcards, MAKE THEM ASAP) and make sure you look up whatever that seems unfamiliar and understand it. Good luck.

I was nervous, stayed up until 2 in the morning studying and my test was at 8:30. My parents thought I was going to fail lol but I study better at night. Do you, seriously whatever your study habbits are that work, apply them to the DAT. I also nervously ate the day before haha. Once it is over you will feel so relieved. Also, the actual test is easier because there are no "none of the above," "a and b" etc that you may have encountered on any practice tests.

Wait.... so the real DAT does not have the "none of the above" or "a and b" questions???
how about "all of the above"? i mean i did not know that the real exam was that straightforward?
can anyone else please confirm this...thanks

Confirmed. 👍

I'm feeling much better today. I just went through ochem and gchem 2x on destroyer. Time to study for math. And AQZ, those are some godly scores!!! I don't think I will score that high, but I'm just hoping to hit 19's and 20's and I'll be happy. 🙂

Fyi...I was only hitting 19, 20s on topscore and much much less on achiever.

Went into the test with pretty much the same mindset as yours.
