Hey guys,

DAT is in 2 days! Uh oh! Anyways just had some quick questions concerning:

1.) Is the software for the real DAT like DAT Bootcamp? (Like very crisp and not laggy)

2.) Is the real exam more like the 2007 DAT or Bootcamp? (I found Bootcamp way easier...not sure why... maybe how it was worded? Also alot of the science concepts I studied were on Bootcamp but not on 2007 so is it outdated?)

Also if you guys have any last minute tips/calm my nerves, I would appreciate it haha. Crunch time!

I never took the 07 or 09 practice but heard the 07 is super easy and the 09 is relatively similar. My software was very crisp and quick. Remember to skip through directions for each section because the clock will be ticking.

-Check in early
-Do the optional 15 min tutorial before beginning the exam to get comfortable with the keyboard and mouse. Check to make sure everything is working. Mess with the calculator and check to see if you can use the keyboard for the QR section (I was able to use the keyboard and it saves you some time vs. using the mouse to click the calculator. I got a 17 QR though LOL but that's because I suck )
-Take the 15 min scheduled break right after PAT & use restroom, have some snacks if you need to, breathe, stretch
-Stay hydrated but don't drink too much liquids. I had to pee so badly during QR section. I was shaking in my seat. Couldn't hold it in anymore so I walked out during QR to pee lol that ate up a lot of time.....
YOU'LL DO GREAT 🙂

Also.. If you don't know the answer to a question or don't even know where to start in trying to answer the question, just guess, mark it and move on. You can go back and review the marked questions once you've gone through all the questions in a section. Better to guess because you have a 50/50 chance of getting it right or wrong than have a 0 chance by leaving questions unanswered. By the way, sorry about my English..

You could've scheduled a test run too but definitely use the tutorial time to get used to the materials you're given and the interface! I think the interface is kind of like Achiever/Bootcamp. At my testing center you can type into the calculators so I'm so glad about that feature 😀! I think the calculator thing really depends on the testing center. Honestly, if you could lock the basic one that comes on windows PCs into standard mode it is still simple enough and is smoother than that calculator from like 15 yrs ago lol.

Great tip I think I've seen a couple people say they didn't know about the directions taking up time. But glad to hear that your software was up to date. Lag is the last thing I need!

Haha you crack me up. Those are all great tips, thanks so much for the feedback! Can't believe you got up during the QR sections that's bold.

Also your english is fine, I don't know what you're talking about 😀

Awesome , I hope it is like Bootcamp. Praying that the calculator does in fact let me use the numbers on the keyboard haha. Wasn't going to pay $30 for a dry run but it is what it is. :/ Thanks for the feedback!

Yay:banana: glad I was able to get some laughs out of you esp before test day! lol.
I believe you'll do just fine. Keep us posted on how you did🙂

There is a site somewhere where you can take a tutorial on your own pc. It was a lot like the tutorial they give you before the DAT. I definitely suggest looking into that.

Yeah but I think that calculator thing really depends on the testing center haha. I mean I do almost all the math in my head or on paper. I've really upped my accuracy and speed so it probably isn't worth it to use a calculator if you can do it.
