sup y'all, long time lurker. I never got the chance (too lazy) to make an acct on here. So my DAT is on Monday and I need some advice. I have finished destroyer 4 times and been through bootcamp tests twice. i finished my last round of bootcamp last week and bootcamp this week. I am currently reviewing high yield problems on the oydessey (destroyer kinda). I intend on reviewing through last half of bio tomm and just going through all my missed test questions tommorow with a break on Sunday. How does this sound? Also I have not taken the 2009 test or 2007. I felt that I can better myself by studying instead of doing those tests. I have averaged 19-20 on sciences with scores ranging from 18-24 on Bootcamp. Do you guys think this is a good game plan for the next two days or should I add on or subtract?

Great plan, I agree to focus on any weak areas your last days of study. By all means take Sunday off if that works for you. I was the type of student who would study right up until the test, everyone has their own unique study habits. I can only comment on the Destroyer and if you have gone through it 4 times you should be very prepared. How are you feeling on QR, I have attached the QC comparison problems in case you do not have them.

Wishing you the best...

Thank you so much!! I will review that also. I have gone through destroyer math twice but math has always been my weakness. Hopefully I can pull out with a 17. Also the reason I was going to take Sunday off is because most have recommended to me but I might just light review for 3-4 hours maybe. As far as RC AND PAT goes I am scoring 20 so hasn't been my main focus. I really want to do well on the sciences. Also Dr. Romano I wanted to ask you about the buffer questions on destroyer. From what I read on destroyer in order to recognize a buffer you must have 1 mol of strong acid with its conjugate base or vice versa. I ran into some buffer problems I found on Google and it also consists of two mol of a weak acid and 1 mol of strong base also equates to a buffer. I was wondering if you were aware of such a thing?

If you have a strong acid or base, in order to have a buffer you should have 2:1 ratio of conjugate to strong. If you have a weak acid/base and it's conjugate they can be 1:1. Good luck to you! I hope you have an enjoyable and happy experience with the DAT.

Thank you!! Makes a lot of sense. Also I just found this site called defeattheDAT.com its chads new site. I am working on my weaknesses on that site and it's really been a huge help for anyone that need extra specific problems.

You have an incorrect understanding . A buffer may consist of a Weak Acid and its salt......or a Weak Base and its salt. HF and KF.....and NH3 and NH4Cl are fine examples. Regarding what you saw on Google......Indeed, you saw the PREPARATION of a buffer solution. When you make a buffer, the strong acid or strong base must never be in equal amount or in excess. For example.....If you wanted to make the HF-KF buffer in real life..... You would mix 2M HF with 1M KOH. Never have the stronger component in equal or in excess.

I hope this helps....

Perfection!! Thanks you Dr Romano

don't go too hard in your last two days, just focus on weaknesses. You've been through all the material multiple times so you know it, you just have to remain composed and I'm confident you'll beat your own expectations.

Thanks a lot man. I have seriously felt so burnt out! Especially today I studied 9 to 6 and then I crashed, came home napped &I dreamed of doing bad and just finished studying. I think I do need To go lightly.
