Wow, I am scared out of my wits right now. The DAT was in the distant future and now it is knocking on my door to remind me that the big day is in 2 weeks. So, I was wondering what you guys did 2 weeks before the exam, because I am so jittery. I just hope I score a 20 or over. Any words of encouragement would help 😀

Thanks guys,
Rich

I'm in the same boat as you. (Aug 22nd is D-day.)

Lately, I've been making it a point to go over the sections I have some control over. For example O-Chem, Gen Chem, & Math. The other sections are kind of difficult to review for this late in the game since they can throw just about anything at me for Bio, PAT, and RC.

I don't know if this plan will be effective...but I sure hope it pays off.

Good Luck!

similar question: how can one encourage oneself to study more when one can no longer study for the DAT? 😉

problem is: not everyone (e.g. me) can study

oh i was answering the other guy, in your case, i would think about how i wouldn't want to have to re-take the dang test.

Take a day of recreational rest... come back and honestly ask yourself what else you can improve further on. You must have been saturated with immense amount of info from the books, strongly indicating your readiness to ace both the sciences and the maths.

I would always remind myself of the mistakes commited by others. Say if RC is still a concern, google on those topics you know will be coming up in the real test, and determine also what method (partially read and hunt, read in full b4 proceeding to the 1st Q,...) will serve you the best ... or if PAT is also a concern, check if those strategies adopted thusfar have been stressed to greater limits ...

just wondering.. why are you so pessimistic? you obviously have been studying hardcore for a long time since you are able to answer so many other people's questions and you have like a 4.0 even tho you try to mask it in your signature by saying its like 0.0.. you keep saying you're gonna fail it when we all know you're gonna ace it. 😉 you're like totally throwin other people off.. werent you planning on taking your exam this week?

I find myself having the same problem. I read about the test on SDN instead of actually studying for it

What does your signature mean??? 😕

UMKC Class of 2010

Just curious, but wouldn't that be the cycle that everyone is applying for now and you're already accepted?

Sorry if this is nosy... I'd really like to have OSU class of 2010 😉

She's already accepted

Thanks guys.

Yeah, UMKC has a Reserved Admissions Program where if your GPA is high enough, you can apply early. Once you're accepted, you still have to have a science GPA of 3.4 or 3.6, can't remember, and a DAT score of at least 17. Its not a bad deal. So I can pick which class I want to be in before they accept people the old fashioned way.

Have you taken the DAT to satisfy the min. requirement?

Not yet. I'll be taking it in the next couple weeks! I'm really burnt out on studying though, I'm ready to get this over with!

Good luck, I have the same problem. I am planning to go on a vacation in a few days. Hopefully, a short trip will take care of my problem.

Don't worry. 17 is not hard to get on the DAT. I am sure you will do well.
