Hi All,
I haven't been on this site for a very long time now. So I'm scheduled to take the exam in 3 weeks, and would really like to apply this year. Some have told me taking the test and applying around late sept. to october is way too late. What do you all think? Secondly, and the bigger problem, its been a long time since I've taken my science courses, and so I've forgotten much of the stuff. I took kaplan a few months ago and wasn't really doing the work along with the class, basically i've only gotten half way through the material of the course, most of which I'm still not great at. So anyways, I want to ask of those who have done this/are doing this, is it possible, and considering my situation of not being fresh on this material, to get through all the stuff and be prepare enough to get a good score on this exam... within this short time frame? Help!! Please give me some feedback as to how I should do this? Is it worth going through all the workshops?

yup i have been through this stage and let me tell you....you are not in good position to take the exam.....if you think you can read the kaplan book and be ready for 20 up on DAT...thts not possible...thats what i used to think ...but i cracked open my text from the classes and there is just so much more that you need to know...kaplan is just a review book......i am a bio major and kaplan bio is good enough for me (i get 21 -22 on practice tests) but orgo and gen chem didnt learn much in the class so had to start from chapter 1 ....if u did good in your classes then kaplan review should be good enough plus they have tons of stuff on their online course

no point in the workshops if you have the willingness to study hard on your own. I have been doing it for the past month and I hope to do well. OC is my weakest area 🙁 and I hope to get it settled within the next 2 wks.

I just searched for random DAT related books in amazon.com/ca and made notes on the stuff that I was not sure about after purchasing those books. It takes about a week to come in so it might be better if you went to some bookstore and purchased it.

IMO, 3 weeks isnt enough if you want a competitive score. After studying for 3 weeks in my case, I was only able to get Bio and GC completely set. But then again, In my case at least, I screwed up quite badly in my first 2 years of undergrad so I am hoping to get a monster score of like +23 so...
