So, I take my DAT in 5 days..yikes! And I wanted an opinion.

I'm not sure if other people seem to have this problem, but my science scores that I get on practice tests fluctuate, sometimes to extremes, each time I take them. I've been getting pretty good PAT (23-25) and QR (21-23).(Thank god I have 2 scores to fall back on). But my Bio has been as low as 14 and as high as 20.. chem is usually 16-19, and orgo jumps around as well, usually because I don't have time to finish-->Unfortunately why I got my all time low of 13 in orgo last week, but I got a 18 this morning with topscore. I feel like it's really all up to the batch of questions I get on test day, which is not a good feeling at all.

So, my question really is if I'm not testing constantly would it be smarter to push it back? Or to just get it over with and study my tush off these next few days on the bio/orgo. I'm scheduled to take it on july 6 since I start summer classes the 7th. I'm not sure if I'm ready or not based on my scores. It's just hard for me to tell. I'm pretty hit or miss. My GPA is 3.5 for both cum. and science, so I feel like I'm pretty average in that respect. Would it be a huge disadvantage of possibly scoring a low bio/orgo, of getting into schools?
Thoughts?

you have a solid gpa, QR, and RC scores, but if im not sure how much improvement 5 days will do for your other scores. Id push it back a bit...

I was in your same exact shoes. It depends on the scores that you are shooting for, of course everyone wants a 29 or 30 but realistically. I had the same thing happen to me. I had orgo scores from 15-26! I scored the lowest I ever had on the organic 6 days before my actual exam. Bio I was all over the place with scores as well but more conistently around 18-20. My gen chem was not looking good, i scored normally around 17 on practice tests. When it came down to it, I think I did pretty well, with exception of my QR, which I knew would suck! Honestly, if you push it back, you'll get more study time but you may just be freaking out. I was to the point where I was so stressed that I just wanted to take the damn thing already. I scored a 20 TS. Hopefully this will help calm your nerves a bit, I would go through and take it!

People usually get lower score on Achiever (Achiever test 2 suppose to be the hardest) and higher score on Topscore. You'll be fine. Just take it in 5 days.

How does kaplan tests compare to the real thing? I of course just took another practice and did orgo-19, bio-17, chem-16 (usually this is my best out of all of them...i dont get it). 🙁 Obviously i want to just get it over with, but if i actually scored a 16 on the real test i'm not sure what my chances would be. I think i'm leaning on just taking it.....hoping for the best ha. kinda nervous

In all honesty its up to you but after I took it I realized that the practice test scores werent a very good predicter of what I actually scored, mine were very inconsistent and you start to think its going to come down to what test you are given on test day and sometimes it is! Lets face it, to be way more precise, we should take this test 3 times and 3 different tests and average the scores, but that is just unrealistic and crazy!
