Hello Everyone,

I have exactly 16 days until i take my DAT, I was just curious if anyone became extremly nervous when the time approached to take the test, i feel very strong about the bio, reading comp, QR, and PAT sections, but the chemistry sections are making me a little nervous. Did anyone feel this same way and then go into the test and do better than expected? I am just curious as to whether these feelings are normal. I have been studying for about 5 months now and have reviewed about 6 books pertaining to Chem, bio, and orgo. I figure if i am not ready to take it now than i will not be ready to take it a month from now. Basically what i am trying to get at is some motivational stories about individuals who went into the test not feeling to great about it and coming out with a big smile on their face. My GPA is great and i have to many EC to list, along with being a dental assistant and a radiographic assistant. I hope a possible low score on the chem and orgo portion of the DAT won't make much of a difference with my GPA and EC's.

Please make comments!

Hi,

When are you taking your DAT? I'll be taking mine on April 15. I feel nervous myself. I feel positive about O Chm, Gen Chm, Pat, QR. I don't feel positive about Biology and RC at all. Did you study straight for 5 months? or on and off??? What test prep did you use for Bio?

the chem portion is probably the easiest section - very basic calculations. I didn't study the day before the test - just relaxed and watched DVDs. Just know that you will be nervous and it's okay to be nervous. I think that most people end up doing better on the actual DAT.

I'm also taking mine april 15th, i used kaplan blue book, cliff notes review for orgo and biology, and cliff review notes gen chem and barron's book, along with topscore

ARe you serious? you're taking yours on April 15th? Goodluck to both of us... you feel positive about Bio and RC? that's good... I just came here couple years ago, so my English is not good.

People tell you to relax and "take a day off" prior to exam. I say this is bull. Do sprinters jog the last 25 feet?

I 100% agree. I studied until I walked into the Testing Center door. Actually, I sat down and looked at flash cards for about 4 minutes inside the Prometric Place. And about studying for five months beforehand...dear lord! You will be incredibly prepared, so don't worry--the real thing was much easier than the practices. I disagree with mitosis about gen chem though. If you study correctly for organic, you can ace it. I got an A- and a C in organic, and a 27 on the DAT. So, be confident...you can do it!
