Hi everyone. I just took DAT today. I got helped a lot from this forum, so I just want to share my experience with everyone.
I got
QR: 20
Orchem: 27
Bio: 22
GenChem: 22
Reading: 17
PAT: 23
TS: 23
AA: 22
First, I thought the most efficient material that I used were DAT destroyer, Math destroyer, Chad's video, and DAT TO GO Biology. I have used also Topscore and ADEA samples tests.
QR: I just used Math destroyer and solved all the sections excluding 12. I generally got 25/40 right, and then write the questions that I got wrong on the note cards and saw them many and many times until I just can solve it easily. After that, I started to solve the same questions from section 1 to section 11 again, and I got 35/40 questions right. I felt like the real DAT QR section has more easy problems per section than Math Destroyer, but the tricky problems were very similar to Math destroyer. I think I got 4 to 5 wrongs or something. I guessed three problems.
Reading: I haven't studied as you can see my bad score. I just did when I was taking Top score. I got reading passages about herbal medicine, antibiotic resistant bacteria, and bone fracture. I was so glad that I did not the Piano passage.🙂
Gen and Or Chems: I felt like I had lots of lab questions in my gen chem section in real DAT, which was kind of hard for me.😴 I think Chad's video was really helpful. First, I watched Chad's video all the way through, and then solve the DAT destroyer as well as writing down wrong problems on the note cards and memorizing them. And then, I watched Chad's video again all the way through, and solve destroyer again. I basically did the same thing on Orchem, too. I also memorize all the road maps on the destroyer. DAT destroyer was really helpful.
Bio: I felt this section was pretty easy except several problems. My major is Biology, so I have pretty good bio background from taking all the classes. I had many weak sections before I studied including Taxonomy, plants, embryology, etc. I strengthened those sections through DAT TO Go biology book, and I really liked it because I had lots of diagram and tables that you can just memorize easily and understand the concepts. After studying the sections I solve all the Bio Destroyer sections and did the same thing writing down all the note cards, and memorize them. I think DAT To Go and Destroyer was really helpful. I had a exactly same question from DAT destroyer. The question was asking which experiment could be used to trace the proteins, and this exactly question was on the DAT destroyer. I was very surprised. 😱 I also used Khan academy to understand immunology, which I haven't taken, so the videos there are really helpful.
PAT: I obtained some techniques in the beginning by watching videos on Youtube, and bought a Crack PAT and solve them all. The real PAT is very similar to Crack PAT. I felt like the problems hardness was exactly the same.
I know that writing down all the wrong problems on the note cards taking enormous amount of time, but that helped me a lot. Even though my grade is not 24 or 25, I just want to share my experience how I studied and what was really helpful. Thanks guys. I wish you guys good luck.🙂🙂🙂
