Hey guys,
So I'm taking the DAT on Monday and I was wondering how you though Bootcamp compared to the real thing. I roughly average around a 22-23 for most of the sections and I was wondering if they are a little harder or around the same difficulty. Also when it comes to math how difficult and how much can it hurt you if you get a lower score. Math seems to be might low point. I get 19's, but sometimes it is lower than that. I was just wondering because I do well in the other sections. Also is math included into your TS or is that just Bio and the Chems?

TS is just Bio, General Chem, and Organic Chem. A lot of people say Bootcamp's QR is harder than the real thing so I wouldn't be too worried about that section in particular.

Hi Blackhorse90,

To answer your question the Orgo,GenChem and Bio are included in the TS, the QR is averaged into the AA. No timed test on the market can predict with 100 percent accuracy what you will score on the actual DAT, but from the tone your post I can tell you have put in a lot of study time and are taking your test very seriously.

As for the QR section, most students find this section very challenging. Just remember if you encounter a problem that is going to burn off a lot of time it is better to abandon the problem and move on, there is more than likely easier problems down the line. Don't burn off a lot of time on a few problems. Most schools look at the science and reading sections and like to see close to a 20, they are typically more forgiving in the QR and PAT sections. If you are going to get a little lower score it's best to be in PAT or QR.

Wishing you the very best and please share with the SDN community your test experience.

Take care..Nancy

I was averaging 19-20 on the bootcamp sections and scored a 21 on the real thing. Bootcamp is on par/slightly more difficult than the real test. QR is a lot more difficult than the real thing. Report back with your scores. You're gonna do great. Good luck! It's almost over 🙂

This. You can't predict perfectly with anything it seems. I feel like you can use practice tests to benchmark yourself but realize there's a margin of error.
