hi, I have kaplan BB and MCAT hyperlearning OCHEM... which one do you think is more effective in getting high score in DAT???? i am going to use destroyer and textbook as suppliment.

ive got destroyer and the accompanying odyssey book. the odyssey book is a lot like the ACS Organic Final review book (for anyone whos seen that) but MUCH more practice problems. My opinion sways back and forth on recommending it because of the price (and the amount of minor annoying errors in it) but I cant deny its legitimate use. I would say the Destroyer book is a really solid source of review overall and that the Odyssey book is much better for those that want to demolish the Ochem section.

ps - the last comment about demolishing the ochem section is based on my experience with diagnostics (the kaplan blue book cd and 3 topscore tests, also have Achiever) since I dont have the DAT until march.

I'm using the destroyer....study the roadmaps theyre very very useful and in my opinion will give you the fundamentals to do well on ochem section

I have the Destroyer.

Is the Odyssey really necessary to do really well on ochem. Its another $130.00 and i dont know if it will make that much of a difference.

any opinions?

IMO, they are enough! BB, MCAT hyperlearning, and Destroyer plus Text book. 🙂

i don't know what you meant by road map...
So, I am just going to read the kaplan BB first, and maybe read the mcat ochem, and then try to do like destroyer and practice problems...

Great to hear this about ACS and the Odyssey! I love ACS finals. I have the Destroyer, but not this extra Orgo material. I'm going to buy the Odyssey.

youll know about the road maps once you open the destroyer, they're awesome!! i definitely do not recommend buying the odyssey book for the DAT, that is more for people taking the ACS exam, we don't need to go as in-depth as that. i only used destroyer for orgo and got a 20, which i thought i could have done better so using more sources definitely can't hurt you. there is no harm in being over-prepared.

i have heard good things about the hyperlearning so try that out too.
