Hi everyone,

I really need advice about when I should take the DAT. I know it is important to take the DAT when you're ready. Here is my scenario, I was planning to take the DAT around late April with 15 hours. I am not sure if I can balance out 15 hours of course work and study for the DAT everyday. How many hours should I should the DAT everyday, considering that I am slow at processing materials compare to others? The thing is I am planning to apply this upcoming cycle, and would it be better to take it over the summer? If so when?

My GPA is around 3.6 and science is 3.65, and I actually want to increase it if possible. Please give me some input. Thanks! I want to use the study schedule (9 weeks) for the April exam, if i do end up taking it.

First of all I just got done with my DAT so you might wanna checkout my breakdown. I strongly recommend that you don't wait til summer. May be if you want to wait til summer then give DAT like 20 days after finals... No later. Why? What if you got 17 in one or two sections? Then your chances get low. So if you have given in very beginning of summer you know if you need to study for DAT rest of the summer or start to apply and do some dental exposure.
You can always make your own schedule on your own ability to learn and how motivated are you. Can you really spent 16 hours every day studying for DAT in those 20 days? Answer to yourself and then decide.
Regardless of date you choose, make a habit of doing PAT every other day or something until exam so you don't have to worry about that stupid section. Do every material out there for PAT if you want 21+ in it.

If possible, you should aim to get 1-2 hours everyday during the school year and a bit more on weekends. If you're ready by April, then take it then by all means. If your school year ends around May, you might have the flexibility to take it in early summer. Since you'll already have a lot of material covered by then, it'll be easier to review everything without any distractions and take it before AADSAS opens up.

When does AADSAS open up? I know it's first week of June or July... Shed some light here, please.
