I am planning on taking the DAT in May of 08, and I just would like to know what are some study strategy's or study books i should be using inorder to prepare for the DAT. I have recently taking the MCAT, and I scored a 31, but i am leaning more towards dental school rather than medschool. I am planning to just review my sciences for the DAT from exam krackers, are there any suggestions on certain books i should be using. Is there a difference between using MCAT prep books and DAT prep books for science review? Also where can i find DAT practice tests that are fairly accurate to the real DAT that i'm planning to take in May. Please if anyone has any advice on certain books i should be reviewing, and certain methods i should be using into my study routine please let me know, I intend to score exceptionally well on this exam as well as everyone else so i hope this thread becomes a benefit to others as well.

also if there is a forum that discusses DAT prep strategies please let me know

For PAT: Start w/ Kaplan Book...any edition really...PAT section is the same. (I'd highly suggest going online and buying someone else's old book. Especially because you've got so much time...you can wait a few days to get it mailed to you. It'll be a lot cheaper.) Then Cliff PAT section (it's in the DAT prep book, meaning no seperate book called Cliff PAT). In addition to Barron (ONLY FOR PAT SECTION).

If you're taken the MCAT, the science should not be too difficult. I used AP and SAT review books from the library.

Reading and Math...Just practice, I guess.

I used TOPSCORE....I can't really say if it helped me personally. But yes, it's a good way to experience the really DAT experience before taking it. So, just buy that from someone...reason being that you probably will not want to continue taking the same test over and over once you're seen the answer. If you buy direct you'll get about 7 months to use the CDROM, before it no longer operates. Even if you get a 3 or 4 months, it a better option, I feel and will probably be cheaper.

Good Luck.
