DAT prep???

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I just bought the kaplan DAT study book from amazon.com and highlighted while studying. However, I would suggest studying for the PAT section through a website of some sort. Also, practice tests are key, but make sure you take them on the computer to get used to staring at the screen for hours. GOOD LUCK!

Same as previous guy, just bought kaplan book and read through it. Is a good prep. Biology is really just hit and miss, either you studied that stuff or not. but the book goes very broad and will prepare you well.

Chem is straight forward with what the book offers.

But yes practice tests are great. Especially with PAT as no other real way to prepare.

Advice on Reading, just browse it then do question by question reading as you can reference the text. so no need to memorize it just know basic structure of the article. So you know where to look for answer.

Math is basic algebra. nothing higher than pre-calc.

Good luck!! All the bio material is from intro series and chem from general and organic. Nothing new just how much you remember.

my advice: try to dedicate more than 3-4 hours a day if possible, esp if you only have a month to study. try more like 8-10 hours.

as far as materials go, the destroyer is incredibly difficult and really makes sure you know your stuff, but quite possibly overkill.. kaplans book is a good place to start.. once you've read through the bio parts and have a good grasp, i recommend a cliff's AP bio book.. it's a really good supplement to kaplan's info, which is lacking in some areas, especially bio.

for the PAT, RC and QR, i recommend practice, practice, and umm.. more practice. get as many mock tests as possible and it helps if theyre on the computer and timed. do several full lengths.. i also suggest Crack DAT Math and PAT, both of which i found to be more difficult than the actual test.

best of luck!
