I went to school for three years studying business and a little over a year ago i decided to go to dental school. I am planning on taking the dat this summer, and it will be before a lot of the classes i have left that would help prepare for it. I am looking for advice on the best way to prepare for the dat so i can get the best possible score... any suggestions?

When I was preparing for the DAT, I devoted about 5-6 weeks solely to studying and taking practice exams. So devote a few weeks to prepare. I would recommend taking a practice test first to see where you stand.

There are a variety of materials you can use like Kaplan blue book, DAT Destroyer, Crack DAT PAT.... There's more and I'm sure others can tell you what they used. You can also post this on the DAT forum to get more advice.

Good luck

I have taken DAT twice. I didn't study much, but PAT on my first trial and scored AA18 TS18 PAT23.

Then I retook and scored AA22 TS22 PAT 26.

This is what I did:

I spent about three weeks reviewing science (Chem and OChem) by using CHAD'S VIDEO. He is the man especially if you forgot basic concepts. If you understand and know how to answer his practice quizzes, you will at least get 19+ on ochem and gen chem. For Bio, I read the AP BIOLOGY twice and made notes about things I forgot. (I majored in Bio, so felt pretty confident) Once I was done with reviewing, I started doing DAT Destoryer problems (twice). Once I felt pretty confident with every subject, I took TOP SCORE practice exams and took the real DAT.

It took me about a month and half to prepare for the DAT.

Good luck.

Would you advise taking the CPA exam before you have completed all of your courses?
