I am a little confused on how to solve questions similar to the one posted here. I understand how to set up the original equation ( 12/52)x (1/51) but I am confused on how to get the numbers after that that lead to the solution. Probability has always been a weak area for me and any insight on how to make this subject helpful with be greatly appreciated!

If you understand the (12/52)x(1/51), then they just simplify. Divide (12/52) by 4 on the top and bottom to get (3/13), then you're at (3/13)x(1/51). Now the 3 cancels out with the 51, leaving (1/13)x(1/17). Multiply them and you get 1/221. Not sure if this was what you needed?

If you don't understand the (12/52)x(1/51), then lmk and I'll try my best to explain it 🙂
