Hi Guys!
I am planning on taking the DAT in May(a few days before the application opens up). I am mainly studying for BIO and the CHEMS over this winter break. I started reading and taking notes from the AP BIO cliffnotes book and I'm not even 1/4 way done with it. I took a practice exam on DAT bootcamp just for BIO and I got an 18. That's pretty bad, but I still got 3/4 of book left! So I was reading on SDN and it seems that people say that the AP BIO book is not enough to get a 20+ on the BIO section. They say that it doesn't include Physiology topics. But I took Physiology last semester, and I am taking Cell bio next semester. So in my case, does this book suffice? If not, what topics do you think I should go over that are not in the book?
I think that the DAT bootcamp practice exam might have actually been waayyy to easy. It is actually the practice exam from ADA. Here is a link to it: http://www.ada.org/~/media/ADA/Education and Careers/Files/dat_test_sampleitems.ashx

So please let me know what you guys thinks
Thanks!!

I don't think Cliff's AP Bio covers physiology sufficiently. Since you took it last semester, only you really know how comfortable you are with that material and how much of it you've retained. Using the subject questions from a source like DatQVault or Bootcamp should give you some idea of how strong your background is in that specific subject.

I'd still consider other sources in addition to the Cliff AP Bio book to pick up things that aren't covered in that one source alone. I think Cliff's is great for laying down a basic foundation, but if you want to score exceptionally high, you'd probably need a variety of sources.

Thank! What topics do you think I should cover that aren't in the AP bio book? I'm pretty comfortable with Physiology because I was very lucky to have a great instructor. I took a practice test from the Kaplan book and didn't do well... got a 16 🙁
It seems that a lot of the question that are being asked are not even in the AP bio book. I'm taking all these practice exams to see where I stand right now, and what I need to work on.

I agree with feralisextremum in that I don't believe cliffs AP is enough to do well in the sciences. Personally I used Cliffs, Campbells and DAT destroyer. I felt very well prepared for the biology. Side note: Don't let practice tests get you down, the BEST/most accurate practice tests are the ones released by the ADA, as they are actual tests. I personally saved them for when I felt the most prepared.
