Are you given a calculator for the General Chemistry section? Also, what are the best study materials to use?
nope. you only get the online calculator for the math section. the best materials are dat destroyer, dat bootcamp, and chads videos.
girl* she* 🙂This guy knows whats up^ If you use those 3 he said, you're golden.
From what I've seen on breakdowns, DAT destroyer seems to be good for getting those like 1 or 2 curve balls that come up every so often and really solidifying concepts you're already pretty decent at. Most people who have scored very well have used it, but there are exceptions (like glimmer1991 and probably others). I've been doing it these past few days and some times it makes me feel really weak at the chems even though I did well on chad's quizzes and know his notes/lectures. However, I think destroyer helps me get a deeper understanding of the concepts chad teaches by offering harder problems and introducing a few new topics. (I must say a question like "what element are meteors and asteroids mostly composed of" is likely not going to be on the test though 😛)I want to add that the DAT Destroyer might be overkill a bit for gen chem. Chads is the BEST SOURCE for the chemistries. The Destroyer is great for QR though.
When I took my DAT, I had nothing that showed up that looked anything as difficult as destroyer for the chemistries. Maybe I lucked out and avoided those 1-2 oddball questions. I am a chem tutor and I didn't even understand half of the concepts in destroyer lol. From what I've seen on breakdowns, DAT destroyer seems to be good for getting those like 1 or 2 curve balls that come up every so often and really solidifying concepts you're already pretty decent at. However, I would recommend destroyer also for biology. I thought biology was the hardest science section. It really is an area that asks random questions unfortunately.
