Hi guys, so I'm about half way done going through Cliffs-AP bio ( I haven't done anything past the Evolution chapter) and decided to take the first DAT QVault Bio test just to see where I was and scored an 18 on it. How do you guys think I'm doing so far? After I get through the second half of the book, do the rest of the QVault exams and possibly one run through of destroyer bio, do you guys think that will put me in good shape for bio? Thanks for all the help 🙂

You won't know how well you will do on the biology section just because it is so random. Don't expect you to do well just because you score a 18 without learning half of the chapters. I scored a 18 on QVAULT too without touching any bio materials, but i do know that I will need a lot of studying do still. Because Biology is so random, I know my weaknesses are Plants, classifications, and physiology just because I have no been exposed to that in a while.

I strongly believe that you can only study so much for the bio section because of its broadness. also the way the word their questions can throw you off pretty bad. they use a bit of double negatives. for instance, "such and such organism does not do this because of this reaction EXCEPT..."...bad example but u get the point. the placements of commas in the questions threw me off pretty hard too.
just make sure u read the questions slowly and carefully.

and as for qvault, i didnt feel that the question styles were similar to the real dat. but it will train u well on timing and speed.

i received scores in the range of 19-22. on test 10 i got a 19...so i was gettig worried.

i got a 20 on the real thing. I feel lucky.

I haven't started studying for the DAT yest (i will after i finish my degree), but i decided to take the biology exam on QV and i scored a 17. I haven't studied or prepared for the biology at all. Like most people say, it is very broad and you never know what type of question you are going to get. Just practice, practice and practice and expose yourself to as many exams as you can. that's just my opinion.

Okay, thanks everyone for the help 🙂 I will keep studying and practicing as much as I can 🙂!
