I have been prepping for the DAT using Bootcamp, Destroyer, and a Kaplan class. I noticed in the Bootcamp the reading section included questions like this (see picture).

I asked my kaplan professor about this and he said he had never seen questions like this one. I was wondering if anyone had any actual DAT experience with these kinds of questions. (also not looking to get **** on for taking a kaplan class)

Yes, I had a question with exactly this format on my DAT. If your Kaplan professor really never saw questions like that, I'd rethink coming to him for advice about the RC section.
Agree with Feralis completely. I also had several of these types of questions on my DAT. Good luck with studying!

While I don't disagree with what others have said about still needing to practice them, my test did not have any of this style question.

The DAT is very every changing and anything is possible. Kaplan absolutely builds a great foundation and not sure why they get such bad press on this forum. No one knows exactly what is or isn't' on the test and and I would avoid anyone who states they do.

As for the reading the best way to prepare is work on your reading speed and comprehension, that way anything that is presented on test day you will be able to handle.

Feel free to message me if you like, I have many years of experience working with students.

Wow bud, you're way out of line here. Every DAT exam is different, just because the OP's Kaplan instructor never saw it on their DAT does not mean they're wrong. And I personally never had any of those types of questions on my DAT so I think the Kaplan instructor is right.

@khami012 Don't listen to ^ or anyone who claims to be a DAT god like @FeralisExtremum . If your Kaplan instructor said that, I would stick to his/her words but not completely rule these types of questions. And don't believe anything you see on SDN, literally anyone can write anything on these forums.

I am not going to try and start an argument, but @FeralisExtremum is probably the most trustworthy person on here. He has helped many people with his notes and advice. He just gave his opinion. He might sounded a little unpleasant, but again, giving a heads up is still good.

I wouldn't bother, @Orka compulsively follows any post I make to try to start conflict. He's willing to contradict just about anything I write for the sake of doing so, regardless of how misleading or unhelpful his comments end upon being for other students. Users like that are best ignored.

Oh wow could you ever be more salty about how the DAT didn't go well for you the first time around? You're being rude

I love how all the fake accounts will pop up and attack me now 🙂
