Hi,Does anyone know, approximately how many words are there per LINE on the reading composition section of the real DAT? are they shorter or longer than DAT Achiever? Are the passages themselves longer or shorter than DAT Achiever? Thank you.

Can't really answer your first two questions, but the following link should bring to light on these:

http://ada.org/prof/ed/testing/dat/demo/sample/dat_ss_question.htm

I remember the actual passages're longer than achiever's. But the heavy content on medical/biological sciences did not affect my overall performance on the reading section. Also, be prepared for the finance topic as appeared on mine.

The passage appearing beneath the question works just like achiever's though, where the whole thing would reset to the first line of the first paragraph each time you hit to the next question.

Thank you for responding, do you remember if the LINES have approximately the same lenght and number of words as the demo?

Kapln's passages are really long there are approximately 22 words per line. are the lines so long on the real test or are they shorter? if shorter approximately how many words per line? Thank you.

Thank you, this is a pretty good and helpful link.

Is there anyone else who knows the answer to the question? Approximation is good enough.Thank you.

Judging from screen resolution alone, I would say those lines at the test center CRT monitors that are usually set at 800 x 600, should be some where from 12 - 18 words per line.

Is there anything in particular that's bothering you on the words per line?
