Just got out of the prometric center no more than an hour ago... before I begin... here are my results:
AA 20
PAT 18
QR 16
RC 20
Bio 22
GC 25
OC 19
Sci Avg 22
Overall I thought the test was way do-able... nothing to fret over... but you didn't hear that from me ...esp if you are currently studying for it.... just remember that being over prepared is mucho better than being unprepared...
Here's the scoop!
Sci was very straight forward... very similiar to things you may see on TS and Kaplan...maybe ACEtheDAT.com... but...yes but!
there are certain key things that may throw you off guard.... unfamiliar words like proto something something cell ....etc... but for real... the sci part was way easier than the practice stuff... don't fret if you're up to par on the science.. don't over do it... sometimes that can get you... case in point.. my OC... I freckin over studied that ... the questions were so basic... i over analyzed the questions.... kinda dragged me behind on time...
The PAT was pretty tough... but I thought the TS if anything... was much better in prep than KAPLANs.... the angle is by far tougher than anything on KAPLAN.... they look the freckin same! But always just eliminate and narrow the choices... don't think holepunching is the easy part.... it can get tough... practice folding paper.. thats what I did with the scratch paper I had... that really helped... practice using the cursor as a guide during the angle part too... folding was easier than I expected... TS was much harder.... but for the key hole... kinda weird... I just thought that dimensions were off or something... but the key there... the best choice of the bunch!
Take the Break... Use that time wisely... study..prepare a cheat sheet for the QR section....
Reading Comp was very fair... but don't go in blind.. make a game plan.. and stick to it... or else you can find your time winding down quick.... suggestion... Kaplan Strategy.... number the page from 1 -18 ...three times.. one for each passage... after reading each paragraph... put key words or a quick two word main idea... its like making a table of content... this will save you much time when you are looking for answers... it worked fairly well for me for the first two passage... then I thought I just go free ballin it for the last one... bad mistake... I almost ran out of time... stick to a game plan!!!!
Now for the QR... its really not that tough... but you just got to let things go and move on if you get tied down on a problem... time is an issue... if you're not keeping tabs on it... Lots of perimeter problems... width is X and length is 2 less than three times... yada yada... can get ugly if you don't use the short cuts ... like factoring.... got a few easy combination and probabity problems... lots of radicals... but pretty easy... but it's the last section... and before I knew it... I had 10 to go.. with only 2 mins left... I was like WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was cruising .... but didn't realize the time....
Let me know if you want more info?
