I remember about a week ago...I posted my DAT score and told people that if I should retake the DAT...People said I shouldn't because I had 22AA..

I just took DAT again today..and here are the scores for both..

2010 - 2011
PAT: 26 - 23
QR: 25 - 20
RC: 17 - 18
Bio: 20 - 22
GC: 22 - 24
OC: 29 - 29
TS: 21 - 24
AA: 22 - 23

[I only had 6 weeks...but I really studied during that time..]

PAT.. I dont think it got harder...I just didn't practice enough since I had such a high score last year...
CDP will get you around 20 or above I did 5 practice test..I didn't have time to finish it....I really think that this is the section you can improve with TIME!!
23/22/28/24/23

QR: Same with PAT..I thought I had math in my mind since another high score from last year...

I do tutor for high school, so I didn't bother to study much...but again...I was being stupid..

Bio: I know this is the section that I could improve the most since I got 20 last time..I used materials that people talked about..
GC: Same with Bio...I wasn't sure what I missed last time...I am still unsure what I missed this time..haha
OC: I did TA in my undergrad..so yea

RC: I am not going to comment on this since i FAILLLLLED...haha honestly, I don't even remember what I had...no wonder the scores are so low!!!

just PM me and I will tell you more detail...

Well an 18 RC is better than a 17 RC especially if schools have a cutoff at 18. So it will help a bit here.

Needless to say, I think you jinxed yourself with your handle: ddslee. :bang:

So the rumours are true. PAT and QR has definitely gotten harder.

Congrats on your score. Your DAT shouldn't be holding you back this year.

wow. retake on an already awesome score. congrats on the improvement

Wow, you retook a 22 AA? People on this forum really are insane. Props for the improvement dude.

I don't think you can make that generalization from one score. I'm not saying it isn't true, but I think it is a bit premature to make a blanket statement like that.

lol, yea really...

From my experience...it is true that the test are getting harder...
but it is also true that I had more resources....so I think its fair game..and also PAT is the only subject that I personally believe one can improve with time...
your eyes and perception will get better as you practice more..so yea..

Assumption that PAT is getting harder based on my score only isn't really reliable..=]

Oh really.

If you look at the threads last year regarding CDP vs the real PAT, the general consensus would be that CDP was a lot harder. This year, many people, including myself, felt that the real PAT was on par, if not harder. Especially the TFE and hole punching.

Even though the sample size is small, because not everyone who did a retest offered their opinion, the ones that do offer their opinions come to the same conclusion: The tests are getting harder.

while i generally agree with your posts, the sample size of SDN and the fact that only self reported people state their opinions does not count as a valid reference point. For more on this please google Correlation does not imply causation.

I agree that you should study super hard for PAT and do your best, but 10 to 20 breakdowns out of thousands of test takers do not indicate any sort of a trend nor are they statistically viable. What im saying is you wouldn't bet your house on the fact that PAT is harder now than it was last year. (while it might be; the data does not yet support your claim.)

I do realize that the sample size has to be big enough to not totally reject a hypothesis. Unfortunately, there are is no objective data to support or refute the hypothesis that the PAT is harder this year than last year.

All we can do is rely on posters like ddslee to give us their humble opinions. And unfortunately for the future test takers, these posters are singing the same song: The tests are getting harder.

Causation does not equal to correlation. You're right. We have to see the event a decent amount of times before a conclusion cannot be immediately rejected. Keep in mind, nothing can ever be proved, it can only be 'not refuted'. It's the basis of the scientific method. So if someone says something is scientifically proven, it's bull.

If a girl slaps you on the face if you try to approach her, does it mean she's not interested?

If multiple test takers are telling us the PAT is getting harder, does it mean it's getting harder?

For me, the conclusion is obvious.

He stated he was not as well practiced and that also when your score gets above 19 a few questions can make a large difference in your scaled score. Also, the way the dat is scored you are awarded a number based on your percentile not directly on your raw score.

No need to jump to conclusions.

Dude...I'm pretty sure we met at the prometric center after the test.

If you're the same guy...I wish we hadn't met. I was so happy after the test but after seeing your new scores (and hearing about your experience last cycle) I felt so inadequate.
I'm joking of course 😀, you seemed like a pretty cool person and you're definitely going to have multiple acceptances this time around.

Congrats again on your new score.

(if you're not the same person, please ignore my post completely)

If multiple test takers are telling us the PAT is getting harder, does it mean it's getting harder?

For me, the conclusion is obvious.

Your argument is flawed and based on the following assumptions:
1) Multiple test takers are telling the absolute truth
2) Multiple test takers are not exaggerating how hard the exam really was
3) Multiple test takers are the nicest people in the world and would never intentionally lie about a section in order to freak out their fellow SDNers, who are their competition in this application cycle.😱

Dude all im saying is that I fully agree that you must study your face off for this section and this exam. BUT, I would be a fool if I believed every little detail on this site. I'm sure 90% of the info here is correct, but there's always the human factor which involves error, exaggeration, and pure lies.

so... you're willing to stand by your 10%?
I'm gonna stand by the 90%.

This discussion is going nowhere. I'm out 👍

hahaha well..if you guys haven't take the DAT...then you guys should study PAT instead of SDN! =]

If you guys are just cruising after DAT...how did you guys really feel after the test? CDP and real DAT?

I personally thought that they were similar and like what yappy said...by luck you can miss or nail couple of those angles, TFE, folding..etc...I guess what I am trying to say was what YAPPY said...I didn't study so I got lower than last year....I got 26 last year and I got little bit lucky on angle part..to be honest...so yea....

Double bonded!! YES I did ran into you i think..if you are the one with gatorade! hahaha your scores are awesome too!! post it and give back what you can if you haven't already done so!! =]

lol hes mad  hes a smart man i have respect for him, just not his logic :meanie:

Thanks for the compliments. My logic has served me well so far, but I did try to push it onto you with a weak argument.

I hope we can still be friends after this lol. 😉

always! SDN would not be the same w/o u 🙂

Regarding the level of difficulty this year as compared to last...
Aren't there quite a few different versions of each test? Unless the tests are identical, they're going to feel different w/ one version harder or than another.
