So I have 2 questions to through out there into the world. Should I retake the DAT?

BCP GPA: 3.73
Other Science: 3.60
Non Science: 3.76
Total: 3.65

And DAT is:

Bio: 18
GCHEM: 18
O Chem 16
TS: 19
AA 19
PAT 19
QR: 26
Reading: 20

My next question is should i use a committee letter or 2 bio professors? And with the committee letter I believe I only get to submit one more letter and should I use a dentist who is super busy and doesnt know everything about me, or my employer who knows me more and we are doing research in oral cancer

i think u should not retake, only because you do have a TS of 19 and ur gpa is great. you should get a rec from a dentist, I believe it is required among a fair amount of schools.

Thank you for the input that one damn 16 is just stressing me out. i set the curve in my O chem classes but tanked the test

quick question how did you pull off a 19 on ts when all your scores were below, or am i mistaken?

TS is out of the total 100 questions there are in the science section. He must have gotten the highest number of questions correct for the 18s and the 16. Yea for the 16, it might get you screened out of some schools, but i dont think you need to retake because it is not the most important section. if it was bio or RC then it would be a diff story.

All of your numbers are great. I wouldn't worry about a retake. I'd recommend 12+ schools

As far as committee letters go... many dental schools prefer to have you submit a committee letter (if your undergrad college offers such service).... But you need to be careful, I am hearing alot of recent reports that committee letters are taking alot of time to complete (as late as August), this could really postpone your application.

With your high science and BCP GPAs, I would not worry about the re-take due to the 16 in OC as it's just a fluke since you scored well in your other sections. Also, if your undergrad has a committee that will write and compose your letters, I believe dental schools will prefer that. You may also have to check with your undergrad to even see if you can contact professors to write you individual references.
