Would you guys recommend a retake?

DAT scores range 18-21:TS 20, AA 20, PAT 20
BCP gpa: 3.24 Overall GPA: 3.4ish

I'm satisfied with my scores, but I think my GPA dampens the effect of my scores because of a downward trend this semester(I'll be getting mostly Bs and possibly a C).

I feel like the other parts of my application (EC, LORs, research) are pretty strong, but my gpa is sub-par so I wanted my DAT to be stellar. Would you guys recommend a retake? I do think if I studied this summer I would be able to score higher, but not drastically like 24+. Money is kind of tight for me so I don't know if I should pay $285 for a retake or just apply for an additional 10 more schools on top of the 9 I planned to apply to. OR is my gpa too low so I should do a postbac?

Any advice is greatly appreciate. Thanks

Good question. As long as i know 3.4ish cGPA is not low at all..... unless it goes down because of your New B grades..which can also bring your sGPA to around 3.0-3.1ish!? Most ppl do Post Bach if they have below 3.0 GPA just so you know.

I don't think a retake is necessary. 20/20/20 are solid scores. GPA is a little low, but I think you have a good shot of getting in as long as you apply broadly.

You have a perfect application for someone who should apply to 20+ schools and not really worry about a retake.

Your sGPA is a little low, but your TS of 20 is nice. I wouldn't retake, I'd just apply to alot of schools

Speaking of sGPA, what do schools look at?
For example: sGPA that includes all sciences courses I took including math, etc... OR just BCP (biology, chemistry, physics). My sGPA including every science course is much much higher than my BCP unfortunately.

depends on the schools really...but in general, the sGPA is very important (even more so than than the overall)

I know detroit mercy LOVES BCP before any other. For them, its DAT > BCP > sGPA > overall GPA

dentalworks where can i see a list of schools that prefer bcp? mine is around a 3.571.
