Hello
I previously scored 22/23/23 (science) 20 math 22 verbal 20 pat.
If I study for ~3 months, I believe I will be able to raise the score by a point or two for the science section and get 30 for math.
My GPA is ~ 3.3 with an upward trend.
Will it be worth it to retake the DAT?
Do I have a chance to get into some schools?

That's a terrific DAT score. Your upward trend shows improvment and persistence which schools love.
How are your shadowing and volunteer hours?

Personal statement and Letters of Recommendation are very important as well.

Hi @DentalLonghorn2014
I have about 100 hours of shadowing a general dentist and also about 100 hours of volunteering at ER waiting.
I also have 3+ years of research experience resulting in one publication as a co-first author.
I'm trying to figure out what else I can do to maximize my chance after I submit my application in June (as early as possible)

That's good.
I'd suggest more volunteering if possible. there's no magic number but they do want to see students who care about giving back to others ya know?

Hi DentFuture111

Excellent scores indeed. I see no reason for a retake unless there is something I am missing. Is your science GPA a 3.3, if not what is it? Not all DAT tests are the same I would never advise a student to retake a DAT with these scores, you always run the risk of taking it and scoring lower in the sciences. If you don't get in it will not be because of your DAT Scores.

I would definitely make sure you personal statement is perfect, this can without a doubt open the door to an interview. If you are not a great writer it is best that you get a qualified person to help you.

Wishing you the best..

Nancy

Do you all think I should retake my DAT (which would push my application to no longer being early) or should I just apply broadly? I am a Texas resident. I am planning on applying to the three Texas schools, Midwestern (AZ), Western, Tufts, and Boston U.
