Dat Review Material Suggestions??

As a new applicant non-traditional student, what DAT review materials would any of you recommend. Seems there are so many CD's and books one can order online. Which do many of you recommend? I apologize if this has been touched on many times in the past.

i got the Barron's book at the ole' barnes and noble for about $14 and studied it for a week and kicked that test square in the throat. i didn't see the point in any of the classes or cds on account of me being dead broke and having to support all my baby mommas.

forget all that expensive mumbojumbo and just get something you feel comfortable with and then own it.

Get the DAT Destroyer. It's a book that will help prepare you for the questions on the DAT. It's $150, but well worth it, almost everyone I know who is applying has it. Also, there are many practice exams you can take. These are very helpful. You can take them at your university or buy them online. You really want to look at it as an investment, even if you're broke, you need to prepare properly so you can give it your all and do your very best. It'll be worth it in the end. Good luck!

I'm taking the Kaplan course right now and I find their strategies quite helpful.. especially for the hole punching.
I also JUST ordered the DAT destroyer and I just wish I looked it over before my last orgo exam because they definitely simplify it.. plus it has answers in the back with explanations.
Also due to the popularity on this site I got DAT achiever.. but I have yet to take it..

whatever you get make a plan and stick to it. I think any book that covers all of biology, an Organic chem book, a gen chem book and a precal/trig book would cover the topics. Then get some good reading books for the reading comp section and read when you dont want to study

you should definitely hit the textbooks. I would say for bio and chm.
don't cover all of it, but since kaplan lacks in detail just write down the sections that you are weak in and read the textbooks.
since the real DAT is more towards applicable questions, doing lots of questions won't help that much compared to understanding the material.

really!?!? i could have sworn that applying what you just read in the questions was the PERFECT way to practice "applicable questions" seeing how you need to know the material to answer the question to begin with...

but hey, that's just me
