Material: Kaplan book, Cliff AP BIO notes, DAT destroyer, Feralis Notes, Khan Academy, Alicia Hart OChem website, and every free practice test I could get my hands on.

BIO: I used Kaplan book and Cliff’s notes to build a foundation then reinforced it with Khan Academy, Feralis’s notes, and destroyer problems. I think this is the best way to study for all the sections besides RC and PAT first build a foundation then reinforce the material with harder problems.

GC: Kaplan for foundation then destroyer again.

OC: Kaplan, destroyer, and Alicia Hart’s chemistry. Her website has every part of organic chemistry sectioned up into pieces so you can gradually learn all the material again. Also she has practice worksheets, midterms, and finals that helped me when I took organic and helped me again with the DAT. I think there’s also a general chemistry section but I didn’t think to use it.

QR: Kaplan, Khan, and destroyer again.

RC: I was really surprised I didn’t review this section knowing I’m not good at integrating new information. I was really pressed for time during the end of studying. I ended up using a quick read then search and destroy method.

PAT: I really should have approached this better. RC and PAT isn’t something that I could have crammed in 5 days. It’s more like something you gradually get better at each day. So for anyone taking the DAT next summer I suggest reading an article and 20 PAT questions a day before the actual reviewing.

I spent around 5 months studying for this. Initially I bought the test in June and the set date was August 15. This was definitely a mistake I should have studied first then bought it when I felt ready doing it the other way just caused unnecessary deadlines. Realizing I wasn’t prepared I rescheduled for December 30th and told myself I’d studied 2 hours a day and weekends on top of studying for classes. What really happened was I got too busy studying and neglected the DAT. Luckily I took 2 upper division bio classes which gave me a really in depth review of cells and cell metabolism. Also I took Pchem which was like half of GC. I think if you were in school and studying for the DAT try to match up major DAT content with the classes you take. So finals ended on 12/11 and I ended up no-lifing it for 19 days until the exam which is really unhealthy although I do think you should do heavier study days leading up to it just not over a week.

The materials I used were pretty solid. The destroyer is really good because it touches up on the smaller details of each section and the questions are a lot harder than the ones you see on the actual exam. Feralis notes were good too but it’s not recommended to use it for foundation laying. The first half of Bio destroyer I was getting 5/10 but when I started reading Feralis notes my scored jumped up to 7or8/10. Cliff AP bio was really good as a foundation and it’s easy to read plus free bio questions. So I didn’t see anyone on the DAT section use Alicia’s Ochem site. It’s free and gives a really good review I think almost all Ochem reactions are listed there. Just google Alicia Hart 118A UC davis. The Kaplan Book was good. I really wanted to try Chad’s videos but I felt like it was something I should have done at the beginning of my studying to lay foundation. Just because I skim instead of actually reading when I’m burnt out.

In short Destroyer, Alicia, Cliff, and Feralis 10/10. Thank you for making wonderful content!

I honestly didn’t think I would have gotten these scores. The whole time I was telling myself “great you paid 400 for a practice test”. I nearly died when I saw my scores. Goodluck to everyone taking the DAT and don’t go to the DAT section too much while you study it’s kinda discouraging lol.

:clap:Congratulations Peter27

Excellent scores and you will have no problem getting interviews and acceptances. Your hard work paid off ! Another DAT Beast Destroyed! A very wise decision you made was rescheduling your test when you realized you were not prepared, again smart move!

We are delighted our materials helped you in your studies!

Wishing you the best along your journey to becoming a dentist!

Happy 2016!
