I'm a freshmen and I took a Kaplan practice test provided by Kaplan today. I have yet to take Biology, organic chem, and finish gen chem. SHould I be worried?

I think these were my scores, not 100% sure on perceptutal
AA: 14
Bio: 12
Chem: 12
O chem: 12
Perceptual: 14
Quantitative 18
Reading: 17

You're wasting your money if you are taking Kaplan and haven't taken any of the required pre-requisites. You will be so overwhelmed with trying to grasp both testing strategies and concepts you won't retain much information. It's also incredibly early. You will take the DAT, at the earliest, summer after sophomore year, almost a year and a half from now. Pump the breaks.

*Edit- are just talking about the free or 5$ kaplan test your school offers or the kaplan prep course?

You shouldn't be worried though

I'm not in a class, I just took it cause they gave out a free one

Oh ok, my bad. Yea, don't worry. You introduced yourself to the DAT material pre-maturely.

um.....why?

You should be exploring all the wonderful experiences college has to offer.
Please refer to www.collegehumor.com if you have any questions.

Don't forget to study hard and play hard.

But my score isn't horrendous, correct?

you scored just under 50th percentile in the sciences and pat...higher on the qr and rc...probably because those are the only tests ud have any real knwoledge of coming just out of highschool

like another poster said...pump the breaks...ull have plenty of time to worrying about the DAT in 1-2 years after u complete prereqs...these scores dont matter because u havent even taken the classes yet...much less studied for the exam

It's relative. A 14 is definitely horrendous, but nothing to be concerned about since you haven't taken any of the pre-requisites. Your scores don't suggest anything, just that you need to take more classes.

I'm pretty sure a 17 AA is right around 50 %. That's why it is the national average.

I think we have a young gunner! Just kidding. I think you have plenty of time before you need to worry about the DAT. A 14 is bad but you can't feel too bad because you haven't taken any pre reqs yet. Just relax and have some fun. You have plenty of stress in front of you.😀
