So, I wasn't planning on making a post, but considering I didn't do as well as I would have liked, I'm in need of some opinions! I took the DAT the other day, and although I didn't do as well as I would have liked, I improved from the 1st time but definitely don't want to go through it again! I was initially content, but the more I think about it, the more I think if I should retake?

PAT: 21
QR: 18
RC: 20
Bio: 20
GC: 20
OC: 19
TS: 20
AA: 19

GPA: 3.41

The materials I used were: DAT Bootcamp, DAT Destroyer, Math Destroyer, Chad's videos, Feralis' Biology notes, Cliff's AP Bio, and Barron's AP bio. I feel these were definitely representative of the real DAT and don't think anything more is needed. I structured DAT Bootcamp's study guide to my own needs, but for the most part, I followed it pretty closely.
The biggest factor for me was timing. The two sections I did lowest on, OC and QR, was due to being crunched on time and having to guess on the ones I originally marked to finish later, especially QR! Going into the test, I was most worried about Bio, so since I went through it in about 20 minutes, I decided to go back to the ones I marked before I went onto the GC and OC since I was doing pretty well with GC and OC throughout my studying and timing wasn't an issue with DAT Bootcamp. It turned out to cost me much needed time with completing the OC!!! I went in overly confident with QR because Math Destroyer wasn't too difficult and I sort of neglected it the last week but it turned out to be so random and I felt the ones I knew I could figure out took forever to calculate!

Considering my results and seeing threads of those that ended up with similar results, should I consider taking it again?

Hi WhiteMamba

First I want to say Congratulations job well done! Your scores are very nice indeed and very consistent! Dental schools like consistent scores. I see no reason you would need to retake the DAT. I have worked with thousands of students through the years and your scores are right in line with students who receive interviews and acceptances. Do you homework and apply to schools that fit your stats.

Wishing you the very best and feel free to pm should you have any more questions.

Take care..Nancy

You might have some issues because your GPA is a bit on the lower side - that's the only reason I'd consider retaking. Your scores overall are fine, but with a 3.4 GPA, a high DAT could really help you in many ways. I do think with a 3.4 and those scores you'll like get acceptances if you apply broadly

Thank you for your feedback. I hope I am able to have the same success with interviews and acceptances!

I am from CA, so with my scores and GPA I think it'll be tough to stay in state. However, I am open to going anywhere and plan to apply broadly, so I hope that'll give me a better chance.

If you apply broadly, I think you'll get in somewhere. It may not be your first choice, and it might be expensive, but you'll get in.
