B 21
GC 25
OC 23
TS 23
PAT 21
RC 16
QR 18
AA 21

I am very disappointed with my RC score because English is my second language. Please give me some honest opinions if I should retake in September, which will be very late.....

how did you find each of the sections?

Bio- There were many questions that required you to apply your knowledge. I had the slide and chicken-mouse embryo questions. The rest were pretty much straight forward.

GC and OC- easy and straight forward, Destroyer is enough to prepare you.

PAT- A lot easier than Archiever. Similar to Topscore.

RC- My weakest subject, English is my 2nd language, I didnt have enough time and there were about 5 inferred question for each passage.

QR- Many probability questions...similar to Archiever. Remember to watch the time, dont spend more than 5mins on 1 question.

Please give me some honest opinion on whether or not I should retake because of RC, I know it is very important...

i think your scores are good enough that reading comprehension wont matter too much. still, only you know if you feel good enough about the scores to take it again or not. talk to some people at the local dental school near you to see their opinions.

There is no way you should retake. Those are excellent scores. A 16 in RC is low, but unless you are VERY picky about where you are going, I wouldn't worry about it. Good luck.

Don't you even worry about your English score. you got great scores. I know students with lower scores than yours, and they got in. Also, Could you please explain me how to study for bio, I mean some extra materials besides Kaplan and achiever.

Thanks. I used Kaplan, Archiever, Topscore, and Destroyer. I also made my own index card. I studied for around 3 months, I reviewed Destroyer for many times and I reviewed A and TS 3 times before the test. The whole point is to make sure that I know every single concept in them.

Those are very good scores however keep in mind that there is a strong correlation between acceptance into a school and RC scores. I would ask around but I asked Dr. Romano and he mentioned to me a kid who got 25s on all the subjects and got a 15 on RC, he didn't get in anywhere. I don't know where he applied but your score might be something you want to discuss with a dean of admissions at a school. This is something to keep in mind because it wouldn't be worth going through the entire cycle and not getting in somewhere because that section. If you are afraid you might do worse, schedule a retake but don't put any schools to send it out to, if you do well add the schools later, if you do worse you will only be $125 in the hole. (not sure if schools can see your scores if you don't send them, but def worth looking into). Good luck

Don't retake. Don't listen to what anybody else says. I mean if your GPA is low and you are depending on just the DAT to get in, then retake, but besides that don't. I got into one of the best schools in california (not USC or loma linda) and i had a 16 in reading with 17 on bio and 17 PAT so don't worry. But it also depends what is on your resume.

excellent scores.
i would recommend NOT retaking the DAT, your scores are excellent....
so what your RC is low, the rest are awesome. It won't make such a huge difference (considering your GPA).
