What is going on with DAT percentages? Some SDNers claimed that they got 97% percent with aa 21 and 93% percent with aa 20, which are much more higher that last year scores (corresponding percentages). The other sections are seems the same way too (lower scores with higher percentages)! What do you guys think? Is the test getting harder? Does it mean that this year aa for schools will go down? Does it mean that it will be possible to get into dental schools with slighltly lower scores?

the percentiles do not mean anything. That's just who took the test when you did and not a clear cut positioning of your score. At least, that's how I understand it..I could be wrong.

I don't think the admission process ever gets easier with time. As long as I'm concerned, dental school is getting more competitive each year.

My aa of 20 was not that high of a percentile, so I think it just depended on the test version that those people took. Plus, schools don't look at percentiles I don't think, so it shouldn't really matter.

The percentile you get depends how well everybody else did on that particular test. They curve the scores and the closer you scored to the best score for a particular section, then the higher percentile you will receive.

Yea, I was wondering about that too. I think it all has to do with how hard your particular test was. If you had a high percentile for your standard score, it means your test was harder than others. (Which is kinda unfair since the schools don't look into that). just my opinion

Yeah, that was my thought as well. I think the schools do get percentiles, I'm just not so sure that they look at them.

Hehe i was one of those people who got a 21 on TS/AA and got a 97/96 percentile. I'm not sure how the percentile worked out. My friend told me that means my test was easier.. so easier/harder..?? i have no idea.. i really have no problem what version of the test i got.. and i think 21 is really solid.. even if the school doesn't look at my percentile, i'm not going to complain.
