My DAT scores were:

PAT 21
QR 17
RC 21
Bio 15
Gen Chm 18
Org Chm 17
TS 17
AA 18

Should I retake? Thanks for the advice...🙂

definite retake, all your science scores are too low. PAT is good. reading comp good.
total science----not good for you, study again and retake.
unless your gpa is stellar like a 3.8, these stats just arent gonna cut it anymore.
no room for error. seriously. everythings SUPER competitive
gluck buddy

I would say yes if you can afford to continue to study you should retake. There are some good scores there, but Bio is really important and you would really like that to be at least 18.

I highly recommend the using the Orgoman DAT Destroyer as a study guide. Challenging questions and great explanations. Barron's and Kaplan good too. Cliffnotes is bad bad bad

Thanks for the advice guys. I really appreciate it. I noticed that my grades were not the greatest partially because I was out of school for more than 6 years. To be honest, my major was in Dietetics, and I am a Registered Dietitian and have my Masters in Public Administration Health Care Management. I'm trying to switch into the field of Dentistry and unfortunately having trouble with the Bio questions due to my lack of knowledge in that area. Do you think admissions will take into account that I'm a non-traditional student when looking at my scores?

you have VERY nice RC score. good gchem and very good pat.

Other than that you know...

So basically i am an non trad to. I have realized that after taking classes such as biochem, micro, anat and phy., genetics and realized that these classes are really helpful in understanding how to study biology and how to think like a bio major...

regarding the q. that you have asked...

I am going to ask you this q. lets say you are in the admission committee for a dental school. Which we all know is very science intensive... You know you can handle it but how do they know that. They think by looking at your scores you might drop out or leave the program after 1 year... which means its an ~300k loss for the school over the next 3 years b/c they cant place someone else in your seat... now you tell me would they consider that you are non trad. Just like us you are and will be just a number no matter what they say.

So they look at your numbers first then if you qualify then only they look at your personality/application.

Consider retake...

Yeah, you're right. Guess it's time to hit the books again! 😱 Thanks for the advice.

It's impossible to say without knowing your GPA/sciGPA. However, if it's below a 3.7 - I would consider a retake.

Yeah, you should try to at least get every score 18 or above. Everyone here had good suggestions already. DAT Destroyer for all the sciences or if you just want to focus on bio just read Cliffs AP Bio cover to cover and you should be good.

Hey if you want to brush up on your QR I am selling the Math Destroyer for a really good price! It has 11 practice problems in QR and it really helped me to get the score that I needed.
