DAT Scores! (Thoughts?)

I just took the DAT today. Here is a breakdown of my scores:

PA: 22
QR:17
RC: 17
Bio: 18
GC: 19
OC: 18

TS: 18
AA: 18

I'm looking at a 3.56 cumulative GPA with a 3.78 Science

Any thoughts?? (I'm from Iowa)

I think your chances could improve greatly if you did better on a retake. You must around the 65% tile, which is really just average. How come you didn't break 20 on any AA section? How long did you study and what materials did you use?

I had almost identical scores as you before my retake. I don't know if you should retake or not but if you study I think you can definitely pull off a 20+ like I did. There are people getting in with your stats but if you aim for more competitive schools, i think it will be a little more difficult.

You can't retake it for another 3 months anyways, just relax and party it up!!

The only score that may be a little low is your RC... Otherwise the rest of your scores are decent. Nothing real low but at the same time none of your sections really boosted your AA or TS.

There are plenty of people getting in with your stats but it is going to take choosing the right schools to apply to and maybe spending a little more money on applying to a larger volume of schools.

If you are not feeling rushed about getting into school you might want to apply with your current stats and see what happens. Otherwise, study up and get the scores you really want the 2nd time around.

your odds of getting into dental school and getting an interview would greatly increase if you retake the DAT and get 20s across the board there are people getting interviews with your scores but those people are few and far between.

I agree with the posts by everyone so far. One of the good things about your scores is that they are pretty balanced. You would probably have a good well-rounded score if you studied to take again!
