I always read these prior to taking the DAT to know how others were doing so hopefully this helps someone who is preparing.

PAT: 25
QR: 19
RC: 23
BIO: 26
OC: 23
GC: 24

TS: 24 99.1%
AA: 23 97.9%

BIO: Cliff's AP, DAT Destroyer, Kaplan BB.

G CHEM: DAT Destroyer, ExamKrackers 1001 MCAT questions, Kaplan BB.

O CHEM: DAT Destroyer, Kaplan BB.

QR: Crack Dat Math, DAT Destroyer, Barrons, Kaplan BB.

PAT: CDP, Barrons.

To anyone out there thinking that you need to spend $1400 on a class and even more on other material, DON'T! It is the time that you spend studying that will make the difference in the scores. I work part time and just studied a lot once school got out and did fine. DAT destroyer, CDP, and Topscore are a must though! Barrons has some good techniques for PAT but if you spend 30 mins in a bookstore you can read them and practice them on CDP. Kaplan BB is good but I got mine for free from someone who got it for free from someone who paid for it.

For anyone who wonders what my topscore tests were:

excellent scores! good job! i'm using same materials except exam crackers and barrons and studying for two months. how long did you study? also, can you pls tell us your stuy strategy? thanks!

Hi. I am doing examkrackers Gen. Chemistry and I find it pretty decent(don't want to say easy) compared to the Destroyer. So I dropped the last and I started practicing first with EK. Do you think EKrackers is any close to the actual DAT?

So I have gotten a couple PM's and I figure I could just answer the questions here so that anyone can know what I think.
First I do not consider myself an expert at this stuff I just knew the answers to the test that I got and I'm sure that each test has different aspects that make it difficult.

For Bio I studied almost exclusively out of Cliff's and Dat Destroyer. I feel that both of those are not optional. everyone knows that Dat Destroyer is great and there are copies of Cliff's AP on amazon for like $5, it is well worth it. I am a business major so I have not taken a ton of bio, and I was always weakest on bio in my practice tests. A lot of what I was tested on I felt was pretty basic you just have to pay attention to what it is asking and eliminate answers that you know are wrong. Also, as lots of other people have said, read the solutions to the problems you get write too, there is usually a lot more than just the right answer there.

For EK I used it a lot during the winter semester I would look at it on the bus or when I was in my history class, but i didnt use it that much this last month. It was good to get me back in the Gen Chem mode but Destroyer and topscore were the most representative.

For RC I didnt do any practice outside of practice tests. When I took it I would read the first question and then I would read as fast as I could until I found the answer. then I would do the second question when I got tone type questions I would skip them until I had read enough to answer them. I know this isnt much of a strategy but it worked for me.

As for how I studied, I started in august of last year i would study for about an hour a day. last semester I started doing about 2-3 hours a day depending on homework and my work schedule but I always studied and I never skipped a day. Then when school got out I kept working part-time and studied for 8 hours a day for the first 3 or so weeks, then I studied for 10-15 hours a day the last two weeks. Believe me, doing 10 hours of studying in a day and then working for 4-5 hours and studying for 14-15 hours on my days off was horrible and I couldnt have done with out my wife taking care of me, but It pays off big time when you finish the DAT and know that you wont be taking it ever again.

Also one of the most helpful things that I heard was some guy who wrote on here about his high score and said that most people on here get satisfied when they get a 20 on like a practice test or something, and he compared it to going into your finals with the hopes and dreams of getting a C. Set a goal that is high for you and work towards it. mine was a 23 and I got it. Make a goal that will force you to keep working even when you are burnt out.
