DAT Soap Carving in 30 mins?

I am wondering how I train myself to carve the soap on the DAT in 30 mins. I purchased the IQPublications book and it recommends allocating 6 mins to laying out the measurements and 24 mins to carve. It takes me about 10-15 mins to lay out the measurements and mark them perfectly. How do you recommend I lower that time down to 6 minutes without having to buy like 30 soaps?

Buy 30 soaps... honestly there's not much more to it other than "practice, practice, practice." That'll make you accurate and fast. BTW, don't pay too much attention to IQ's carving. It would take me approximately 11 mins to mark the soap and I still handed in a great soap (I got in after all haha). Other than a few practice figures at the back, that book is pretty much useless when it comes to teaching you techniques. Here's part 1 of a 15-part series that really helped me: Good luck!

Hey, I just want to make sure what views you get on the actual test. You get top, bottom, and side view as well as 2 end views right?

Interesting.. Probably a lot harder than simply asking PA questions on a computer
