Hi everybody,

So I am planning to take my DAT around mid July so I am getting all my materials together so I can start studying asap to give myself roughly 10 weeks. I've purchased DAT destroyer and Math Destroyer, DAT Bootcamp, Cliffs 3rd Edition, and have my other notes or books from school. I am planning to follow Ari's guide but not sure if I should pay for course saver or the Kaplan book (I know that is not apart of his guide, but seems valuable). I am just trying to organize my materials in order to spend the least amount of money while still having the appropriate sources.

Also, what are your thoughts on sending away for the 2009 DAT practice test ?

Thanks for any input.

There is a free copy of the 2009 DAT practice test online. And I personally recommend Chad's videos, those are the best imo.

Currently studying with the same material, Chad's videos are a must to learn/review the material before using BC or destroyer to practice.

I purchased the Kaplan book, but didn't end up using it much. For me, the other materials you have should cover everything you need. I used youtube videos a ton on confusing topics as well. I think its an underutilized tool.

I'll chime in once more to reinforce coursesaver/Chad's videos! Those are a must have.

I found the Kaplan book minimally helpful at best. Definitely not a necessary study material.

I will endorse the previous comments about Kaplan book. The resources you already have do not warrant buying Kaplan. Put the money towards something else.

Bootcamp now has Mike's videos. I'd check those out first if you want to save money and utilize your bc subscription to it's max. I enjoyed Chad's videos, literally had zero recollection of gen chem (took it 6 years ago at a community college... i mean at least I got an A) but do feel he taught some sections that weren't necessary for possible questions on the DAT. Idk how much one version of a hard copy test from 8 years ago is going to reflect the current computerized thing. I could be completely off on that though. I only did bootcamp practice tests and felt prepared.

I would definitely select Coursesaver over the Kaplan book, but check out Mike's videos (part of Bootcamp's subscription) for more chem review.

I feel like Chad's videos are still better. They are more thorough and cover everything you need to know, plus I haven't heard good things about Mike's videos from friends who are studying for the DAT right now.
