DAT Study Period

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Sure, I had a classmate who studied 1.5 months during the school semester while he was still taking Orgo 2 (meaning he didn't even have the full background in Orgo yet) and he scored a 22 DAT.

And he only took the Kaplan course. Nothing else.

Of course you have to be very diligent and disciplined, but yeah it can be done.

I am scheduled to take the DAT in august. Do you think 1month of intense studying is enough time to do well on the DAT?
Depends on what you consider "doing well". I have seen plenty of people with AA20-22 whining on SDN that they didn't do well enough, or live up to their potential or whatever. If you want to know if you can get a high enough score to be accepted, yes, I did it in 3.5 weeks. If you want to be remembered on SDN as one of the "greats" probably not. Be realistic about what you want out of it, and what you actually NEED and shoot for that if you are on a time constraint.

I studied for exactly 28 days, maybe 4 hours a day for the first two weeks and 6 hours a day the last two weeks. Made 22/22/20. Honestly, I don't know what you would study for more than a month. I kind of got through everything twice and still had some time left over and just wanted to take the thing already. The biggest thing is time management the day of the test. If I had used better time management rather than giving in to my nerves, I would have done better on PAT.

It depends on what your science background is like. I studied for about two months because I remembered NOTHING from genchem. Also, if you wanna have the possibility (emphasis on possibility) of doing awesome in Bio, you need to leave no stone unturned. That means going through the bio in every freaking resource. Most people don't because even if you do this, there's no guarantees. If your time is limited, focus on getting a good bio score and ace the chemistry sections not because they're easier, but because they're more predictable.
