Hey everyone,

My exam is on July 16th and I started studying on June 5th. So far, this is what I've done:

BIO: Currently on Chapter 9 of Cliffs, used Feralis Notes to go over each completed chapter every other day
-So if I did Chapter 9 today, I'd use Feralis Notes tomorrow + my own notes to go through it again, and take the practice test at the end of each chapter

GC: Haven't touched it yet (I know:arghh: )
OC: I'm on Chapter 3 of Mike's Videos. Used DAT destroyer and did some questions that I recognized from these first 3 chapters and saw how I did, took notes. Also supplemented w/Organic Chem as a Second Language.
RC: Finished Mike's videos. Currently doing the daily reading practice (I read 2 articles a day)
QR: Started a few videos. Taking notes. Supplementing with other online videos
PAT: Finished Keyholes and TFE. Moving onto Angle Ranking.

I feel like I'm going at too slow of a pace... I'm scared that I'm gonna get to the week of my exam and not feel prepared. Am I freaking out for nothing, or should I take a different approach based on how dense the material is? Feel free to drop any suggestions

depends.... how many hours/day are you studying?

5-6 weeks is plenty if you're studying 10 hours a day.

I'm studying about 8 hours a day. I take Sundays off usually but if I'm not resting or doing anything, I study on that day too.

You'll start learning more and efficiently when you start doing problems be it destroyer or bootcamp exams.Try to finish content review by the 1st week of June, then you have at least 2 weeks to do as many problems as possible and it gives you time to review them, trust me you need a lot of time to review problems even if you get them right.

It depends on how comfortable you are with the material and what your gpa is. If you have a high GPA and you are aiming for an 18 to 20 you should be ok.

Have you taken a baseline? Take a practice test under timed conditions ASAP and see where you are at.

If you aren’t working/shadowing/volunteering right now - please just put everything you have into studying. If you put in the time now you will never have to take the DAT again. By putting your heart and soul into the next few weeks, you can potentially save yourself the DAT fee, Application fee, study subscription fees, and AN ENTIRE YEAR OF INCOME AS A DENTIST.

The next few weeks leading up to this exam could be worth over $100,000.

Remember why you are giving up you summer to study. Why you want to become a dentist.

Ask yourself - how badly do you want to succeed.

Best of luck and I hope to see you post a breakdown with incredible scores!

Hey,
I study by doing the problems and only watch video on the topics that I'm struggling with. For bio, I use Dr. Romano's notes which has nice graphics and the materials are so easy to read and absorb. U should check it out. Also, join Destroyer Facebook page. He posts questions everyday for us to practice. It is free.

Thanks for your help everyone! I decided to push back the exam by 2 extra weeks. I'm not where I should be for the GC and OC portions of the exam and I need to devote my time to that. I'll let you know how it goes 😀
