Hi all, I'm starting to study for the DAT and have read quite a bit of the threads in this forum but my question has not been fully answered yet. I was wondering for Biology, what is the best way to study for that and what resources? I have the AP Cliff Notes, DAT Destroyer as well as the 2013 KBB. I downloaded Ferali's Bio notes as well; I'm wondering if simply studying off of Ferali's notes would be enough? Should I also skim over the KBB AND/OR Cliff?????

Also, does it matter what edition KBB I have? Cause I'm worried that IF the KBB is useful for Bio, should I thoroughly take notes on it since it is the "latest and greatest edition"?

Thanks! 🙂

Those notes are great. So as qvault, but you do need to practice answering questions. That is where Destroyer or Kaplan come in.

Where did you download Ferali's notes from? Do you feel they helped you?

Biology has a wide range of information and while the more you do is better but there will be questions on the real test that seem pretty random and that you have never seen before. I used KBB, Cliff's notes and destroyer in addition to watching videos on youtube from 'crashcourse' (to better a better visual picture and summary of the human body systems) and was able to secure a 20 in Bio and 21 in overall science

If you have some foundation in biology, I say go ahead and do DAT destroyer as much as possible. Anything you see that is unfamiliar go wiki it.

I am studying for the OAT and it's Natural Science section is same as the DAT.

For Biology, 2013 Kaplan Review Notes book that comes with the course or Cliff's AP Bio 3rd edition or both? I have the Destroyer and will do a ton of Biology questions from that. For content review, which one? Thanks.

Hi! Sorry for the late reply! Here's the link to the notes: http://datbootcamp.com/feralis-biology-notes/
And yeah, I feel like after going through KBB and AP Cliff's, the notes are a good way to review on a day to day basis!

When you say "review on a day to day basis," what did you mean? Did you look at a couple pages a day when you had time but not a serious study?

I got a 26 on Bio and used Kaplan DAT book, their MCAT BIO book, and I did DESTROYER Bio twice

I used the newest version because I took the classroom anywhere course this summer. I never made higher than 22 on BIO and averaged around 20 on practice tests. OC was always my strength.

So I was thinking of using the Kaplan Review Notes book (2013), and taking in depth notes from it, using it's flashcards, laminated Sheets and doing the bio destroyer questions & using the mcat examkrackers audio series for Biology. In addition, doing Chad's videos biology quizzes.
