DAT Studying Help!

Hey everybody,

So I plan on taking the DAT in May and of course I am beginning my studying now. I have the Kaplan DAT book, Barrons DAT book and I was planning on purchasing DAT achiever a little later down the line. Since I have roughly 4 months to study for the DAT (along with school 🙁 ) how should I approach this? When should I start taking practice DATs? Just looking for anyones advice on this matter (what you did, what you would have done if you could go back, etc.) Also, any input on the materials I am using would be welcomed as well! Thanks 🙂

buy the dat destroyer!!!!!!! i have one for sale if u want to save money....

and also depending on how good your orgo and chemistry are...make sure u watch chads videos. my first time without chads videos...orgo 20, gen chem 21.

my second time with chads videos....orgo 28, gen chem 27. yea it does make a difference...hahaha

but pm me if u need any more help. ill be glad to help. but make sure u get dat destroyer, if not from me from somewhere else!!

Start off by going through everything once. Don't stress out if you don't understand too much, start off doing this with Kaplan.

Then go more in depth such as Chad's videos and AP Biology books. By this time you should be making flash cards and other tools to help you memorize!

When you feel you are ready, do destroyer. You will get killed and this will motivate you to study harder. The last stretch is going over things every single day so that you can automatically recall facts and methods of solving questions. Finally, take the exams to get a feel of how you will do!

Does anyone know if i am studying only the Kaplan DAT 2007-2008 edition for this year exam, should that one book will be enough for me to get a good score on my DAT exam?

I would start off by reviewing everything once as suggested but would start with subjects that you have not taken in a long time. For instance if you are in the middle of organic chem or just finished it then don't worry about that this first time through...If you have a good background in biology and feel comfortable with the main topics listed on the ADA Guide to Dental Admission Test then skip it for the first time. The main goal is to get a brief review and familiarize yourself again with everything..

Take your first test. Know why each answer option is either right or wrong... Afte you do that begin going through everything again...This time all the subjects. When you start the subject be sure go through everything and spend X-tra time on the parts that you struggled with on the exam.

Take the next test in 3-4 weeks and repeat the process. I would save 1 achiever and 1 top score for the very end and take both of them about 4-6 days before your DAT.👍

what are chad's videos and where can I get them?
