DAT taken twice, I'm going for the third.

Dear fellow SDN members, your true opinions are really needed here because I'm on the verge of anxiety,strain, and perhaps soon trauma. I've took the DAT last October and I didn't score what I expected and I couldn't reschedule for another DAT due to the 2006 application dead line. So I decided to retake it and miss the 2007 application cycle and go for the 2008 (not that I had a choice). Any ways I've taken the DAT for the second time this past July and this time I did better than the first but still my overall isn't. (T.S=17, PAT=17, R.C=17, QR=11 😱), that damn QR was F***ed up.

Anyways my application is already submitted with the best 4 letters of recommendations and a really good personal statement that has been proof read by 3 English professors; 200 hours of volunteer in a dental office; Accumulative G.P.A of 3.4 (Science is around 3.2, non-scinece is 3.95); Bachelors degree in Biological sciences; I'm really not trying to be arrogant here but I think I have a shot but I dunno if i do or not with this Darn DAT.

Ok, so its October and I'm retaking the DAT for the Third time in November (And PLZ correct me if I'm wrong because I know you can only take it 3 times, and if some one can tell me whats after the 3rd time, can you still apply to take it again?)

I've applied to 14 different schools, and got declined from U.K( they said they only have 40 seats and they will be going to their Kentucky residents, oh and competition this year is off the walls with their 1400 so far applicants)

Yea I believe thats all, I'm thinking of adding 6 more after I retake the DAMN Admissions TEST; I said I'd go anywhere I get accepted just as long as I get in some where because I dislike Medschool and my passion is Dentistry. My plan B which I hate to give up on Dentistry is probably either optometry or pharmacy.

So, yea, this is my situation and I'm reaching out for your opinions.
If you guys are going to tell me about study tools that helped you, don't bother because I purchased all of them.

And one last thing: how late cam I apply for a retake and still be applicable, thats if I decide not to take it in November and due it possibly in December?

Your GPA looks not too bad, but it is still on the lower side of dental applicants. It seems to be certain that you must have a decent DAT score at this time, because 17 on DAT does not look to be enough to cover your GPA. Getting in the dental school becomes lot harder and harder lately, but as long as you do well on your third round, you will be definately fine!

Make sure you really kill the DAT the third time around, take no prisoners.

If you need to take it a fourth time, you need permission from the ADA.
