For those of us taking the Dat this summer I just would like to highly recommend the "Test DRive'" from the prometric center near you! I just had mine today and I am sooo glad I did it! first of all, I got lost on my way there! 2nd I discovered that the center near me uses "Hard boards" now, I was totally preparing to use scratch paper, since a friend recently took DAT last month and used paper! I dont know how i feel about it. I wrote on the board and the markers had a fat tip so everything I wrote was big! They said its best to only use one side of the three they give and when I fill up the three sides get up and come get another board! ........Are you kidding me!!?? I hope it all works out though! And Most important I was SOOO Nervous I couldnt even get my fingerprint read!! I wasnt even taking the test!! The practice test they gave me totally did not have enough info to answer the ?'s . I guess they were trying to freak me out cause it worked! I was not expecting to be so nervous! I marked true for the question they gave me.. It was T/F water boils @ 100F. I put true! I totally got a headache just thinking about the whole thing! Anyway, I am glad I got all that out of my system and I def. recommend it to anyone who is curious about the testing environment like I was! I now realize that you can know everything you need to make a 25 but u can sike yourself out of that good score very easily. Anyway, Good Luck to all studying!!

woah i didn't even know you could do a test run...so you go and take a min-test? how long is it? what's the fingerprint thing you're talking about...where can i get more info please? 🙂

yea, check out the ada website. I found out about it when I registered for the DAT. I think on their main dat page there should be a link. Its 30$, but i think its worth it! Yea they take your fingerprint when you take the real test so they just simulated it for me! They were telling me about people who tried to cheat in the past. I heard some pretty funny stories.. like the guy who came to take the mcat for his buddy and got scared during the middle of the test and totally bolted out of the room and out the door to his car and took off!!! true story! and also about a guy who was so nervous he got stoned before the mcat or Dat i didnt ask which test! But yea, check it out!

lol goodness the things ppl do...

thanks for the info though...def. didn't know about it so good to be informed!

how many questions are there in the mini-test? were they more like bs questions like the one about the water boiling, or were there more "real" questions?

Hey, but water boils at 100 Celsius, right?

what is the conversion equation between Celsius and Fahrenheit?

I hope so. The best equation I have found for conv. is F=1.8C+32! But my whole point was that you can very easily get flustered with the whole process and miss very easy ?'s No, the test is just a bs 10 ?'s that have nothing to do with the dat.

So, the Test Drive, does it affect your actual DAt in any way? Do you think the schoold will know that you took it? if you lets say got "less than expected" score on the 'testdrive" will school know it? I assume you do not have to report it. Thank you for the heads up though.

Are the questions the same as the one's in the ADA DAT handbook?

No No No ... It is not a practie test in any way!! There are no quest. from the real dat! Its not that easy!! come on! if so u would have heard of this a long time ago. Supposedly the ada and achools have no way of acessing the scores! the ?'s have nothing to do w/science except for the bp ? I mentioned! thats all. its just to get all of the jitters out and its worth it to me! b/c I sure had a lot of them and I know if i did go take the real thing w/o this I would have gotten very nervous and not have performed well despite everthing i know!

Any chance someone has the link to the "test drive" page? I can't seem to find it...

I searched the ADA website for "DAT Test drive" and didn't find anything. Could you post the link? Thanks

I must be blind, but I still can't find the "Test Drive" option anywhere on the prometric website listed. Can anybody point me to the right direction? Thanks

Prometric ADA Page Click on the link and click on the blue banner on the left side of the page. It reads "Prometric Test Drive".

I actually just finished setting an appointment for my DAT (Aug 18th :scared:) and also signed up for the Test Drive!

as a side note guys,

there is two equations u need to know for celcius, ferenheit and kelvin conversion:

1) K= C+273
2) F=1.8C+32
