My friend just took the DAT and he's from Maryland, his scores are as followed.
Bio: 24
GC: 27
OC: 24
PA: 20
RC: 24
QR: 21
TS: 24
AA: 24

My friend was not the type of person you would expect to achieve these scores. His scores aren't godlike or anything but very impressive nonetheless. I asked him how much he studied prior to taking the test and how he did so well. He told me he used Kaplan online to study and that was it. He said that compared to the first time he took the DAT, the second time seemed rather easy. Oh the important thing here is the fact that the first time he took the DAT was in Virginia. That's why I'm here, I'm starting to speculate that the DAT in Maryland is easier than the DAT in Virginia. Now I don't know how the questions are chosen and by who, but is this even possible? Or was it just by luck that he received an easy test? Or was he smarter than we all thought he was. I really want to go to Maryland to take the test and see how I will do. Just a bit of curiosity I would like to share with SDN. Can people from Maryland tell me how well they did on the test? Did you guys expect those scores or were they higher/lower than expected? honestly I wouldnt expect god to score much better than your friend. The DAT is administered by the ADA in testing centers regardless of where you decide to take it. To be honest I felt that the second time that I took the DAT it was a bit easier but I think that had everything to do with my preparation and nothing to do with the fact that I took the test in a testing center across town from where I initially took it.

Yeah, I think God would probably at least get a 26AA, because heck, I'm sure anyone would mess up the Ethics or Piano passage.

Getting back on topic, as many people have reported getting the same reading comp passage from all over the country, I'm fairly sure the test pool is the same in every state. Also, I really think some people just get lucky and get questions that they're familiar with. The DAT covers such a broad range of topics that if you are lucky and get more questions you are familiar with, it will seem like the test was easier the second time. Good luck, and don't stress.

Yeah, you didn't hear? Jesus took the test on August 08 and got a 25. Your friend must be able to walk on water, or at least a slightly more dense liquid.

Back to the point... it is rumored that there are several versions of the test, I've heard 6, however no one really knows. The DAT would be the same difficulty whether you took it in China, Virginia, Maryland, Alabama, or the bottom of the Mariana Trench (you might "feel the pressure" there a little more).

In addition, "easy", as you stated, is only a relative term. The test is graded on how others score on it. Should you get a "hard test", then you should theoretically be able to miss a few more questions and get the same score as someone with an "easy" test.

These scores seem made-up to me...

There is luck involved once you get in the mid 20s...

I agree with you guys. DAT is about LUCK, you may or may not get the version that you familiar with. But, before that, you need to spend lots of time to prepare.

Don't always depend on LUCK!!! Work HARD and SMART!!!

i think it is a pretty ridiculous accusation, and i don't mean to be a d**k by saying that. and if these scores arent fake theyre pretty awesome and i would listen to your friend because he nailed the test.

I'd listen to what he has to say, a 24 isn't just luck.

And your post seems like trollbait OP I really hope you are not serious about the test being easier in a certain state.
