For all the people who have already taken the DAT, what is the testing environment like..? Or is the testing environment not standardized? I'm just trying to get a mental image of what's going to be around me. Thanks.

There will be a socket near your feet and there will be a plug in it, and if you kick it, your comp turns off...

All kind of people take all kinds of tests around you in the same room... get used to someone typing next to you... some people even try to talk to themselves...

Yeah that was quite irritating to me during the test. I could hear the person typing away right next to me although I had headphones on provided by the center that supposedly blocked out the noise - it did but not enough. He was typing without a care in the world for anyone else, banging away at the keys. We had those crispily sounding keyboards that I love to use at home but don't think they're suitable at a testing site. Thank god he was not typing during the sciences or RC where I had to read and truly concentrate.

for the ladies out there, i would suggest wearing some protection just in case your aunt flow comes in visit unexpectedly. i've heard stories where a girl had to go to the bathroom during the chem portion, but got lost finding it, so it cost her big time. BE PREPARED.
