I was originally going to take the DAT Aug. 18th but don't feel i will be completely prepared. I wanted to change the date till Aug. 25th. When checking the prometric site i found that the only available time 4 me to take it is Sept 2nd. Is this too late for me? I have a 3.8 science and 3.9 overall. I want to do the best possible on the DAT without applying too late. Is it worth it for me to wait till the 2nd or is this too late? Any advice would be very helpful thanks!

Hey man,

I was in the same problem and instead of asking people's opinion's i contacted the schools myself.
I was scheduled to do mine july 15th or something like that but I changed it to sept 2. Sending an early application with a "not ready for dat" dat score is not as good as sending in a later application with a better dat score, that's how i thought about it. However if you are ready at an earlier date you should check Prometric every day because people cancel all the time last minute. I decided to keep mine for sept 2 although there are like some August 22, 25 available (after confirming my Sept 2) because I called the schools and most of them had the response that they start looking at applications in the last weeks of August. Case-western however, starts looking at them a lot earlier. With your way above average GPA as long as you get a 20 TS and 20AA, you will be in majority of the schools. Hope someone else can shed some light.

I rescheduled mine from July 11th to July 25th and 2 1/2 weeks is A LOT of time to go over material. I think u made the right decision because if you go in not prepared you might end up waiting until next may 15th if you get my drift. Definitely push it back 🙂
