So I just took the DAT today and while I am relieved that it is over, I am a little worried that it might not have been enough. How bad are these scores?

The actual DAT that I took today in my opinion was so much harder than the practice tests I have taken from bootcamp. I think bootcamp gave me a false sense of security leading up to this exam, especially in the QR!

I was always very very strong in math and the first time I took the DAT I ran out of time but still managed to get a 21. I found this version of QR RIDICULOUS, I didn't have enough time to work out about 10 problems. I would definitely say that the questions were more on the level of DAT Destroyer. BC is great to simulate the formatting of the test but in terms of difficulty it was far too easy in comparison(I was consistently scoring 23+) to my actual DAT. I know it is my fault that I did so poorly on this section but I am still pretty PO'd at how bad I did.

I honestly don't have much to say about this section, I don't enjoy reading or writing lol and it this proves it. On the bright side though believe it or not this was actually an improvement for me, in BC I was getting 15's so I can't even complain about this score. Also it was not as hard as BC, questions were slightly more straightforward, just ran out of time. I definitely did not practice this enough, I only started to practice a few days before the exam.

The keyholes....I don't think I have ever seen a more confusing set of shapes in my life. These made BC and Crack the DAT look like basic squares. I am not sure there would have been much I could do about this section to be honest. TFE I don't think was terribly impossible, along with the Angles - very similar to BC. What I did not like though was that some of the lines from the angles appeared to have been blurred, which didn't help because I can usually tell the differences in the angle by the vertices but they were like smudged? Idk. Hole punching, pattern folding, cube counting just like BC not too bad.

~sigh~ I was really hoping to do better. The questions they asked me weren't really the type that I was expecting which is why I am mad at myself, I focused so much on reactions and mechanisms when I should've done more conceptual studying. Harder than BC imo, I was actually getting 22 and 25 in BC so go figure. Only tip I would give is to use Destroyer and Chads as your primary learning tools.

I actually expected to get higher in this section, I didn't really have trouble with this section but as you can see I obviously did a few things wrong, I guess some of the concept questions because the calculations were easier, on the level of BC I would say.

I thought I was doing terrible in this section because these questions were super random and weren't at all what I focused on. I mainly lived and breathed Cliff's AP, which to be honest I regret. Many of the questions I encountered I didn't feel like they were covered in this book. I have heard people saying feralis covers everything (I printed it and everything) but I found it hard to read. I feel like I should have read more feralis. I knew so much of Cliff's that I went into this exam confident I could do really well.
Overall:
I would like to say that by far the best resources for everything is the DAT and MATH Destroyers. If I had focused more on these and less on BC I think I would've done better. Also I can't forget CHAD! He provides a good foundation to apply to Destroyer and BC. Don't get me wrong BC is great for simulating the test and especially with PAT but it gave me a false sense of security. Ultimately I know it is all on me, I just wish I didn't ignore the Destroyers for BC.
PS- I am still steaming over that QR!!!
Any suggestions/comments on how this score will do for applying to dental school?
