Hey guys, I'm scheduled to take my DAT tomorrow and would like any last minute advise on what to expect/how to relax on test day? My test is not until 3:30 pm so I'll be freaking out a little bit until that point. But, I am very excited to be done! Thanks everyone!

Well, as you can imagine, expect a fair bit of nervous energy from the time you wake up until the time you start the test.

The key for me was to keep the thoughts positive the entire time. Negativity and questioning yourself will do you no good at this point.

If possible, get a good night of sleep and maintain your normal routine.

Most importantly, find comfort in the fact that all of the hard work is already done. Now all that's left is a golden opportunity to flaunt your vast knowledge of all things bio, chem and high school math... floor people with your uncanny ability to fold (and punch!) imaginary paper in your head... search and destroy three passages of irrelevant prose so surgically it's just assumed you're a member of Seal Team Six...

I'm done, good luck!

No concrete advice but when my day comes I plan to get to bed by 11pm (have 1:30 exam), run 2 miles in the morning, a little yoga after, and eat a good breakfast. I might review a few gen chem/math formulas right before the exam.

Best of luck and imagine the 100's of others in the same boat at the same time.

What worked for me was relaxing the day before my test day (today for you, OP). I only casually browsed through SDN, looking at other posters' questions to help jog my memory on various subjects. I also got plenty of sleep, I think 8 hours to be exact. I then ate a nice, balanced breakfast the following morning with lots of high energy food (nuts work wonders, and bananas help too). I avoided any type of caffeine because I didn't want to run into any problems with an unexpected bathroom break. That's where natural energy in your breakfast will come into play.

Going to the test center really made me nervous. To help calm me down, I went through some of my notes for the Biology section. I probably didn't retain anything useful, but the act of me doing something useful for the DAT calmed me down. The test itself was very much like practice testing in terms of format. However, the stress and pressure is much more. Right before I started the real test, I used the introductory 15 minute tutorial to just calm down. I did a few breathing exercises and meditated a bit to help focus my mind on the DAT that was about to start (my martial arts background came in plenty of use here). I tuned everything and everyone out, I put on those noise cancelling headphones, and I started my test. Just think positively and reflect on all the hard work that you have done to motivate yourself and give yourself confidence.

Good luck and I'm sure you will do well!

Convince yourself that you are going to get a 24+ on the exam and laugh about it. Tell yourself you already know everything and you know your going to smash this exam in the face with a sledgehammer. Remember, you already have a 24, you just don't know it!
