Hey Everyone! I have scheduled to take the DAT on May 30 and apply right after. I need a little advice on the math section of the DAT though. I have the hardest time on this section. It seems like there are way to many problems to complete in the time given. Anyone else run into this kind of problem? I do really well (18's & 19's) on every other section of the practice test but not as well on the math. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

budfrog,

The math section is ridiculous----but manageable. The time allowed is not nearly enough, for all of the problems----unless of course your a math whiz. What I found beneficial was to find the problems I could do quickly and correctly and come back to the ones that were story problem and/or lengthy calculations. You have to get ~ 25/40 questions right to receive an 18 in that section. Therefore, if you come to a problem that is costing you time MOVE ONand come back if time permits. Implementing this system will allow you to see all the test questions, answer the ones you can do quickly and eliminating the chances of having to guess on questions that come later in the section-----that are simple.

Also, as your time dwindles down try to narrow your choices on tougher problems and then make an educated guess------Never, ever leave a question unanswered!

Good luck and time management is the key to the DAT.
