come on. you know your scores are stellar. you don't really have to ask. you probably got (except for qr) 97th percentile across the board.

there is no way in hell you get in with scores like those! you better have a 77.0 gpa and 40 years of research under your belt or else you can kiss dental school goodbye.

lol...ohh u guys and your sarcsasm🙂 actually i really needed these scores because i have a 2.75 gpa from my old scool but a 4.0 at my new one...2 years at each. so this is definitely going to help. Good luck to everyone else!

Heres my advice....go into the test as if you already have a great score and u just want to improve...you will feel relaxed and be able to think clearly that way. I should know because I really had nothing to lose, i have a lower gpa and not sure if i would even make some of the application deadlines. So i was just like, eh whatever, lets get it over with. Other than that, get the KAPLAN book with the cd, sleep good, eat good, and pop an excedrin an hour before! Good luck!

My dentist told me that my scores were way above any that he ever saw at dental school. I find this hard to believe because of the outrageous scores ive seen on here, or maybe its just that all the really smart kids come to post on sdn lol :laugh:

Two things. I find that 1) the best are quiet, the good are very loud, and the bad are quiet. 2) people seem to lie all the time about their "stats" and scores, especially online.

Check out the website http://www.predents.com/ as they do a good job of reporting school statistics taken from the school, and anonymously entered DAT/GPA scores. You will be surprised at how much lower people's "stats" are, as opposed to what one sees on SDN or other message boards. Just my $0.02 as to what I've observed.

I completely agree...Anybody can lie about their stats on an online forum...

I did notice a LOT of lower scores on there than on SDN. However I saw someone with a 29/29/29! Of course that could be BS lol

My thoughts. Look at the reported school scores in the AADSAS booklet, but do not spend too much time worrying about it. Other people's scores are irrelevant to you; simply do your absolute best and go from there.

Everyone seems to freak out about "what everyone else got" but the universities are reporting much lower DAT and GPA scores than what one would expect from browsing SDN.

Ok I just got my gpa calculated on aadsas. I got a 2.6 BCP and a 2.72 cumulative. Now I transferred schools so my last year and a half is a 3.85 gpa. My question is, what do you think my chances are of interviews with my dat scores and that GPA with shown improvement considering I have more than adequate shadowing, commutiy service etc. What are your guy's gut instinct?

Well, you know the answer already. Your stats will boost every school's DAT avg, but it'll also harm all their GPA's. You'll have to balance out the two factors.

Consider UCLA. Their DAT is a 21.6 one year ago. Their GPA is 3.5-3.6. You DAT'll elevate their DAT avg a little bit, but you'll plummet their GPA.

On the other hand, NYU has a 19 DAT and a 3.0-3.15 GPA. You'll boost their DAT a good bit more, but your GPA'll drop theirs by a smaller margin.

Considering a balance of the two, NYU may gain more/lose less by accepting you than UCLA. This is a good guideline for deciding your chances. You'll have to determine which schools you apply to.

I am in no way bragging!. I worked my arse off to get those dat scores because I knew I had to. I am very very unsure if i will get many if any interviews since i only applied to 6 schools...needless to say im on edge till december!

Congrats Wilson.
You got the same TS and AA as I did! Like you, my GPA is also shot to hell but I did managed to get two interviews so far so you'll no doubt get in some where. Esp. Since your PAT is pretty high.

ALso,
you and a few other SDN members who just took the DAT makes me want to retake the darn thing to raise my PAT score and my math score.

You will definitely get interviews, regardless of your low GPA. Your DAT scores are incredibly high, and it demonstrates improvement and ability to succeed in dental school. I wouldn't worry at all if I were you. Congrats!!!
